An intriguing rum with a whisky influence. The nose is imbued with smoky, peaty notes, typical of whisky. The rum adds a slight spiciness. The whisky comes first on the palate, with the rum bringing a sweeter, fruitier note behind. The finish is again dominated by smoky notes. A rum that may be unsettling at first taste, but is still enjoyable.

A very interesting effort with Kilchoman. Unfortunately, within the realm of rums, it has a very pronounced whisky finish. For me, who also enjoys smoky ones, it's a great piece with a gentle whisky right after the first sips, gradually fading and emerging agricultural creaminess and light spiciness.

Again a brutally smoked piece. Like a homeless person at the station. The nose is completely dominated by whisky and smoke. On the palate, at first you kind of suck on an ashtray for a moment, but gradually fruity tones appear. Recently I drank a rum with the same finish from Plantation and I enjoyed it there. Here it's somehow strangely too much. Edit. Towards the end of the sample it starts to get a bit nicer, but I still think this finish is more suitable for molasses rums.
