T.D.L Plantation Duvel Beer Barrel Aged 2009
Tasters keep landing on the same word for this one: thin. It's a Trinidad column rum given a Duvel beer-barrel finish, and the beer does show up — citrus and pastry on the nose, then a short, bitter-hops fade on the end. The middle, though, is light and quiet. Several found it watery and a bit flat, more curiosity than a rum to sit with.
- Citrus, pastry nose
- Real beer-cask note
- Easy, low intensity

How does T.D.L Plantation Duvel Beer Barrel Aged 2009 taste?
Aggregated from 28 community reviews.
Light, thin Trinidad with a bitter beer finish Most found it too thin and light, with a bitter beer-hop finish as the main event. The Duvel cask reads more in theory than in the glass — interesting idea, underwhelming pour.
Curious drinkers who like the beer-cask concept and a light, gentle pour

Nose: fresh citrus, vanilla and pastry notes The attack on the palate is again very (too) gentle on fruit and young wood. The finish is short, with notes of almond and, above all, bitter beer. As with Jamaica 2013, the Finish Duvel is clearly perceptible on the finish, but this rum is far too flat! Big disappointment with these 2 Finish Duvels. If anything, the Jamaica 2013 is even better than this Trinidad. But we've saved the best for last to raise the bar (and not by a little!) ...

War echt gespannt auf dieses Experiment. Für mich aber leider nur Durchschnitt. Langweilig irgendwie. Geschmacklich auch nicht ausgewogen🤷🏻♂️

I find it difficult to judge this rum. He is very light in all aspects and little ... well ... intrusive 😉Am prominent is still the finish with bitter hop notes.I prefer strong rums - this is not one of them.

It lacks some power, making the rum seem thin. Aftertaste quite bitter.
