"A monster," one taster called it, and that fits — this is Hampden's highest ester mark bottled at a wild 86.2%. Expect pineapple, nail polish, varnish and overripe tropical fruit with a finish people say lasts into the next day. The Caroni finish is the divisive bit: some catch tar and cherry, several taste no cask at all.

Very alcoholic from the pouring so I left it to rest for 30 minutes after which it had lost some of its teeth. Fruity with varnish and spice/chocolate. A super long finish. To put it into a few words. A monster :-) At the same time i got a package from one of my suppliers and it contained samples of all the Albert Michler "Colours of Rum". The smile on my face and excitement to give these a go in the near future can't be put into words........

I don't understand the rum. The 86% is certainly drinkable, as the alcohol is relatively well integrated. But is that what you want? Especially with the highest ester mark of the distillery, which is expressive in itself. The drop does not reveal any more DOK DNA than others bottled between 55-60 volumes. Then there is the Caroni finish. For a DOK? At 86%? With two years of storage? The cask influence is (understandably) not noticeable to me. As I said, I don't understand it.

This is a Poweful DOK from start to finish 🤤🥴 With some cool notes of cherries, cocoa and tar. The 85% is clearly notable on the nose, but all in all well integrated and well drinkable😏

... Hampden, the legendary Jamaican distillery that besides rum also produces alcohol for perfumes. In all rums from this distillery, you can smell wild esters, after which your whole body soaks up the scent of yellow tropical fruits - mango, papaya, pineapple, peach. One of the rums you "must try before you die".

Wow! Truly an incomparable rum. The Caroni cask comes into its own in the taste and attack. Otherwise, of course, lots of Hampden Power. Great stuff!

Crass High Ester DOK! Caroni I do not really taste out, however; perhaps with some imagination. Nevertheless, very good!

Strong nose, I can smell it from a meter away. :-) On the palate then a punch. Very intense and alcoholic. Lacquer and le... uh pineapple. The finish is also not to be underestimated. I have to try it in a Mai Tai.
