Papaya and peach in a cloud of esters reminiscent of Jamaica on the nose. In the taste, there is also some coconut. Points are deducted for the finish, which unfortunately lasts much too short. Extremely tasty, alcohol very well integrated.

Ahh... one of my top 3 Fijis. Just love it. Great blend of edgy and complex. Nice and warm and funky. Brings it all. Best 2009 for me. A rum that demands and wants to be drunk consciously.

Blind Tasting,

Update: Also tastes very good blind on day 5 in the Ester calendar of RumX. And without a doubt Fiji☺️First tasting:Fiji, my secret love. Beautiful bottlings that at 12 years already brings decent maturity and depth, but also still has the wild character of young Fijis. Aromatic tropical fruit basket nestled in a plastic bowl steaming out something unhealthy. In addition, a slight saltiness that brings South Sea flair to the tongue. Interesting bottling especially for those who want to know Fiji.

Part 9. of the Fidji tasting! This has once again real funk...an extremely fruity, but also alcoholic nose...the palate is intensely spicy and toasty, as is the finish! The Nectar needs time in the glass...but then it unfolds its intense aroma! ClassToday at the blind tasting to the E(a)sterweeks:My first impression is confirmed! Very intense, very tasty

What do you get when blending Jamaican rum, young Guyana pot still and Isla whisky, all continental aged? Right! Let’s do 5 Fijians. SBS 2009 57% Rasta Morris 2009 60,5% Old Brothers 2011 59,1% Old Brothers 2009 63,3% The Nectar 2009 60,5% C: Gold. N: Very balanced nose for a young Fiji. Let’s see if it checks all the boxes. Burn eucalyptus and phenolic? Yes. Esters? Yes. Celery and cucumber? Yes. But it also has aromas I couldn’t find in the other candidates, such as straw- and raspberry, hints of peaches and watermelon peel. I´s both traces of Hampden and Worthy Park. M: That balance in the is nose is transversal in this rum. Full of spices and quite peppery. I really like this rum. F: White pepper and pineapple. Buy: Si. Two please!

Beautiful thing. Lots of singed plastic on the nose. Well integrated alcohol, finish lasts for 64% but not so long.

First impression on the nose was here at blind tasting ne small ester bomb. The impression has but probably somewhat deceived because these notes evaporate but reasonably quickly. It remains something medicinal in the nose, but not too intrusive. Notes of tea and citrus soften the aromas. At the palate's then clearly more toasty and fruity. We have peach tea, some herbs, the whole with gentle sweetness and refreshing minerality. A little pushes the alcohol, but then there's a nice roasty profile in the finish with good dark chocolate and cocoa and a few sharp notes framed by a little dry fruit.Pleased!

I finally landed on Fiji..On the nose it is a true explosion of fruity flavors (peaches, papaya) with a mild citrusy, then the herbs and medicinals come through fiercely. It has its own funk, although very different from a Jamaican rum, more greener and fresher. The palate is spicier and charred. Really nice and glad that I’ve taken the bottle ;)

I like him. An adult noble Fiji. Alcohol well integrated.

Again a great bottling from Fiji. Fiery, spicy, heavy, fresh - here happens a lot in the glass and although constantly flashing new flavor nuances but everything always remains in balance. Also reveals the heavy tea notes from the 2001 Vintage, which I personally like very much. Not quite at the height of the best representatives of the South Pacific distillery, both aromatically and in the alcohol integration are still air to the top - but still a great rum.

Surprisingly complex, delicious and alcohol perfectly integrated! Definitely one of the Fiji discoveries so far. Beautiful notes of tangerine peel, dried apricot, ginger jam, old banana with lots of cocoa powder and strong cappuccino, plus lots of roasted flavors and some wood. I like it really well!

#5 RumXHighE(a)ster weeks: Blind tasting: Fiji max. 5 years of aging 50% low ester So let‘s give the fiji another shot 😜 Result: It‘s from Fiji 🥹 High impact of Alcohol and various fruits in the nose with some hidden notes of black tea. Very lovely. In mouth starts with spice and ginger, a bit of astringency. The finish is quite short and unspectacular

Not a bad rum, but overall Fidji doesn’t seem to be my preferred profile 🤔🙃
