Most helpful positive review
Comparatively high tropical fruit impact, plus a pleasant sweetness of vanilla and caramel. The typical aromas of Saint Lucias with tea, spices and wood influence - all of this is also found here, but in a very rounded overall picture. Other Chairmans releases impress with their power and dirtiness, here the balance and round aromas score points. Very good.

Actually, Chairman’s rums always have good quality thanks to their tropical aging, but in my opinion, this one is an exception. For me, even after a long time resting in the glass, it’s still too sharp-edged and alcoholic.

Can partly understand the relatively poor reviews. However, I don't see it as that bad. A bit sharp-edged, a bit sweet instead of complex, but still a good rum with a medicinal floral touch.

Usually these releases are pretty good, but this one is a bit out of balance. The workshop is there and som are th fruits once rested. The curtains are beautiful and slow and the empty glass is nice and has nuts and iodine to it.

Alcoholic. Somehow smooth, somehow not. Could definitely be more pleasant, but the alcohol gives it a musty or cellar note that I don't like at all.

Once again a St. Lucia where I can't understand the bad reviews. JD1 &V is simply a great profile, period. Nevertheless, this is one of the weaker barrels, lacking a little depth and fruitiness. All in all, however, a very good rum at a killer issue price.

This edition is less intense than the others 2005 JD1/Vendome casks. Still a good rum 😋 but doesnt has the wow effect like the Nectar/GOTA editions.
