Roasted charred oak, leather, licorice and a big menthol-eucalyptus streak, with dried plum barely peeking through. Several call the body almost syrupy. Compared to its 2020 predecessor, much more balanced and not as bitter. Nevertheless, borderline bitterness in the finish. Meanwhile, I can handle it better, however, and no longer find it annoying. Makes absolutely fun!

For me absolutely on the edge regarding bitterness, so I can't give a higher score. I've just never liked sucking on pencils or chewing leather chairs ✏️😝🤷🏼♂️ but definitely better than the predecessor which also had less %... Update: even several years later still for me one of the weakest 91er KFMs. Unfortunately hardly any fruit notes present, extremely dry and astringent. Also generally missing some complexity.

In direct comparison to the FRC predecessor, the nose is somewhat more restrained and the rum is also much milder on the palate than its predecessor. Both the tart tea note and the roastiness is much less intense here, but this does not harm the rum at all - rather, this actually creates an exciting bottling, which complements last year's release coherently. For me, the 2021 edition has the nose in front, because I like the balance on the palate a little more.

WoW This is one of my favorite profiles 🤤🤤 Wonderfull mix of wood, licorice, minty, eucalyptus and herbal notes! Without being to bitter or astringend! The Alcohol is integrated very well 👍🏻 In direct comparison to the Flensburg KFM 1991 from the previous year and the nobilis no.10, this one wins by far.

Until I tasted the Haubariria, this rum is my KFM-1991 reference. Fortunately, there is also this 2nd bottling from Flensburg, considered by many as more successful, still here and there almost at the release price 😉. A worthy and spicy conclusion to the weekend at the Pueblo del Ron in Nuremberg.

What a beast! 90s Versailles they can in Flensburg. Yes, the rum is bitter, but it is also damn horny! You look in vain for fruit here - some dried fruit flashes through here and there. The dirty notes dominate: Tar, resin, swarming, leather, smoke and wood. This doesn't sound like my preferred profile, but it goes 100%. The mouthfeel is so intense yet well balanced with no off notes - this is very impressive. Compared to the RA, the bitterness is much better integrated into the herbaceous aromatic spectrum and the alcohol is very well integrated. Another top Demerera from FRC!Compared to the RA and the Nobilis also by far the best bottling.

Rum Friendly Club Advent Calendar, day 23. A very woody and vanilla nose but not monolithic because behind it hide dried fruits, prunes and nuts, a slight menthol and even an eucalyptus side, fresh fruits that give a welcome freshness. The palate is austere, very woody, a damp wood like Enmore. But as on the nose, the complexity reveals itself little by little and after the dried fruits and nuts, some fresh fruits, leather and a touch of menthol that refreshes a beautiful long finish, bitter and marked by the wood. A very beautiful rum here, balanced despite a massive load of wood.

Almost syrupy wood and herbal blend with a long finish. On the palate, a specific herbal spiciness of mint and eucalyptus. Red fruits discreetly in the background that round out the whole. Alcohol perfectly integrated. Needs time to breathe.

This is a super KFM in my mind and at release the price was really good compared to what you get. A heavy and dirty KFM with some fruit and nice herbal notes as well as leather and smoky wood. The finish is extremely as in extremely long and the empty glass is like heaven after an hour. Even the day after the notes were still present in the glass.

Hmmm... This is top-notch! I was hesitating to get a bottle but this might be my favorite Guyana so far! Very dark (the liquid is almost like coffee), you can clearly make out the hallmarks of the famous still that distilled it. Leather, black tea, cocoa, and walnut are front and center with a subtle prune and praline that balance it all out. Finally, a minty touch ties everything together to make it approachable. Alcohol perfectly integrated, the length is endless: I'm still tasting it 3 hours after finishing my glass...

Winner of the evening, great dark and cask-heavy profile. Light herbal notes and a bit of mint complement the chocolate and leather. Develops wonderfully over time, especially the nose stays exciting for a long time. Top bottling!

Oh yeah, I really like this Enmore. Also a solid, quite dark rum, definitely very toasty, you can recognize coffee, leather, and licorice, plus there's wood/barrel and various herbs.

91 vintage KFM with the typical features. Not as bitter as the predecessor, but also not as good as the top representatives of the vintage (Tamosi, Bellamy or especially the Cadenhead). But also available cheaper for that.

Awesome. A eucalyptus bomb. I like the RA 1991 KFM better. But this is all on a high level. Very tasty, complex, and long in the finish, and available for a long time at the original price. That's quite something because there's a lot going on here. Absolutely fantastic rum.

I like it much better than its predecessor. The nose perhaps a little less complex and deep than the 2020, but still at a high level. For this a little more herbs and herbal, perhaps some tea? In contrast, however, the rum delivers much more flavors on the palate than was the case last year. A strong woodiness is still present and probably somehow characteristic of this marrow, yet it does not come in the form of an all-covering bitterness. This rather binds into the overall flavor, leaving room for dark fruits, licorice, pepper and spices.KFM will probably not be my favorite mark, but this bottling I like already very much. However, also here a high price, there are better for me.

A very dark and complex rum with lots of wood, mint/eucalyptus, spices, black tea, leather, and roasted aromas. Plum is noticeable on the nose but not really tasted. Alcohol perfectly integrated. I really like it even without sweetness and fruits!

Wie bei einem 1991er KFM zu erwarten war, gibt es hier die volle Breitseite an dunkelstem Guyana-Rum. Röstig-verkohlte Eiche mit Politur und Eukalyptus-Mentholnoten trifft auf Melasse, Lakritze, Kräuter und Gewürze. Fruchtige Aspekte wie Dörrpflaume und schwarze Johannisbeere sind jedoch rar gesät, sodass sich am Gaumen eine merkliche Bitterkeit aufbaut, die für mich aber immer noch im gesunden Rahmen bleibt. Welcome to the dark side!

first impression: here it does not need much more and you can form a chewing gum out of it 😉 I do not think I have had a more viscous rum in the glass. Prune, herbs, leather, toffee and polish come through on the nose. On the palate, licorice, nutmeg, herbs, some peppery spiciness, toasted barrel, and out the back menthol and a bacony toasty note.

Wonderful mix of wood, licorice, mint, eucalyptus and herbal notes, agreed! At first sip it is a bit harsh, but later it is okay. Many interesting mint/eucalyptus notes. I personally like the color - dark brown and red - that's the color I expect from a 30-year-old rum. But it is quite bitter on the finish.

Mega good rum. Very dark, roasted and herbal. Overall totally smooth. The alcohol is super well integrated. You really have to like the wood here. Intense and long-lasting on the finish. Overall absolutely recommendable.

Finally a quiet moment to taste the sample of this rum. Thanks at this point to RumTaTa for making available. So far I was a big fan of long stored, woody and correspondingly bitter rums. So times an extremely try to better classify my previous Tastings and to see if the previous in this respect were only "kids stuff". First, the color: wonderful strong red-brown. On the nose, the long storage and the strong influence of the barrel are already beginning to show. However, there are still massive herbal and mint/eucalyptus notes. Great intensity. I think I can still smell something like curry leaves. With a bit of time, the plum also comes out of the glass. Now for the taste. Now I finally understand the Guyana lead association, which I didn't come close to knowing to this extent. Wow barrel, wood and herbs with tremendous punch. I understand that not everyone will like this rum. With a little more fruit on the palate to balance out the brute herbal wood and pencil flavors, there would be a new personal highest rating from me. So the MEC of FRC still has a little ahead of the game. Nevertheless, an extraordinary rum that I like very much and is definitely somehow a class of its own.

The guy presents me with a challenge :-) The aroma is very intense and complex. Plum, a bit of wood, earthy, very slightly roasted. On the palate then a lot of body, heavy and intense dried fruit, herbs and again herbs. The finish reveals further nuances... and some bitterness... a real all-rounder.

A nice KFM, with lots of herbal and floral notes, plus roasted and woody. Mint/menthol, black tea and eucalyptus dominate the nose. On the palate, pleasant sweetness, wood and licorice join in. Nice, long finish with menthol and herbs again. I like it very much.

Beautifully complex, herbal, tart tea notes, wood notes, slight bitterness and leather. Many different aromas that develop and linger long on the tongue. I totally get why people can love this rum even though it doesn't 100% match my taste profile, I really enjoyed it.

A very interesting combination of herbs, technical and earthy tones, also with a technical odor. Taste initially sweetish, oak reveals the age in the barrel, herbs. Finish quite herbal, tobacco, burnt barrel, licorice. Unfortunately, for me, the excessive herbaceousness is a drawback.

I personally would agree with wonderful mix of wood, licorice, minty, eucalyptus and herbal notes! At first syp it is little bit harsh but later on it’s fine. A lot of interesting minty / eucalyptus tones. I personally like the color- dark brown and red - that’s the color I expect from 30y old rum.

... Enmore - drive distillery, now only a functional distillation device. Probably the only wooden distillation device in the world that enjoys great popularity. Enmore rums have a flavor of ash, leather, heavy wood, which especially excites lovers of smoky whiskies. And if the producer adds a little molasses to the rum in the traditional Guyanese way, you have a unique, very strong and heavy rum in the bottle. One of my favorites.

The 2020 was not quite our rum, it was too bitter for us and thus quite one-dimensional. In the still one year older barrel, this bitterness and the tannins are also still clearly present, but surprisingly more relaxed and homogeneously integrated into the overall aroma. This leaves more room for the spiciness and dried fruit. We liked it considerably better. The finish is very long and varied with a very long final mint note.
