Opinions land in a familiar spot here: a well-made but very classic Foursquare. Expect vanilla, oak, coconut and toffee from the ex-bourbon aging, with a faint glue note and some minerality creeping in. A few tasters found it a touch "plat et fermé" — closed and short on surprises. Reliable and enjoyable, just not one that reinvents anything.

#5258 18.04.2025 Enjoying some samples at home while listening to some nice Trance Tracks. Nose Round, light wood, light roasted, light vegetal, faint mint, dried fruit, light prunes. Palate Fresh, round, fruits, light orange, faint mint, light prunes, light pineapple, spice, light vegetal. Finish Long and warm, round, fresh, light oily, spice, light wood, raisin, light chocolate. Empty glass Light honey, chocolate, vanilla, dried fruits, light caramel.

Compared to the newer vintages, the rum becomes a bit more closed, a fine glue note is added to the profile, paired with some minerality. However, major surprises remain absent, it remains a classic Foursquare.

Foursquare is a distillery from Barbados producing amazing rums for everyday sipping. It's a rum especially appreciated by rum lovers who are fed up with sugar and looking for a gentle, sweet rum full of coconut, vanilla, chocolate, and caramel. Simply pleasant and not aggressive flavors.

Very good Rum from Foursquare. Price per value is OK. You will notice the 60%+ for sure! Nose: Classic Barbardos. Tropical fruits, vanilla, oak, marzipan, coco, banana, Honey. On the palate: Roasted, Vanilla, Marzipan. The finish is medium long with an astringend feeling with notes of oak, vanilla.

⚠️ Category Disappointing Foursquare 2007 – 61.6% Aged 11 years in ex-bourbon under the tropics, then 2 years in English malt whisky cask… and that's where it goes wrong. Fortunately, the finish remains discreet, you find a bit of coconut, but overall it stays flat and closed, without real emotion.

Seriously, all this foursquare are more or less the same, and this is an tremendous achievement. Rarely a fallout to below the 70 points. Bourbon cask leaves vanilla and spices, some coconut, and overall a bit boring but reliable profile, even with these ib's
