CoR Foursquare Barbados No. 2 2005
Foursquare fans who want classic Barbados at full strength will feel at home here: coconut, vanilla and toffee on the nose, then an oily, spicy palate with caramel and dried fruit. The 59% is well integrated but you'll feel it. A few tasters find it astringent and bitter, with heavy barrel on a medium finish — one calls the oak almost too strong.
- Coconut and vanilla
- Cask strength integrated
- Reliable Foursquare profile

How does CoR Foursquare Barbados No. 2 2005 taste?
Aggregated from 18 community reviews.
Cask-strength Barbados, coconut-vanilla with heavy oak Most call it a reliable, well-made Foursquare — coconut, vanilla and spice with the cask strength tucked in nicely. The catch: it leans dry, bitter and quite woody for some.

Very good Rum from Foursquare, exactly like the 2007. Price per value is OK. You will notice the 59% for sure! The alcohol is integrated better than in the 2007, so +2 rating. Nose: Classic Barbardos. Tropical fruits, vanilla, oak, marzipan, coco, banana, Honey. On the palate: Roasted, Vanilla, Marzipan. The finish is medium long with an astringend feeling with notes of oak, vanilla.

16.05.2023 Normally I don't do tastings during the week because I have to go to work pretty early the next day. This blind tasting just stating "Colours of Rum" just tickled my brain to say "book and participate" and I didn't regret it. It wasn't only a great experience, but we had a blast of an evening with many new faces around the table. This was a nice rum and I think the price is pretty good compared to what you get. I like the coconut in the profile. These nose is fruity and fresh. The palate is oily and spicy/warm with fruit and caramel. ABV is well integrated and the light caramel note is nice. The finish is medium to long with nice dried fruit and caramel. Nice curtains in the glass.

Very good Foursquare with almost too much barrel influence.

On the verge of being overpowering. Quite dry, bitter, astringent mouthfeel. Paired with the wood notes and the residual sweetness quite interesting, a rum that needs time, but then worthwhile. Interesting and definitely one of the best Barbados bottlings of the CoR series.

From the smell slightly standing but yet missing here the typical for Barbados glue note. In general, one must say that this rum tastes far better than it smells. In the taste beautiful intense tones of coconut vanilla and strong spicy nuances. I find this rum recommendable

Wow. This is an amazing rum. The smell is of vanilla, some sweetness, and fruits. You can definitely taste the high Cask Strength, but even then the smells follow through and shift more towards the aged wood and spices. A surprisingly great aftertaste of the aging and ABV. Overall everything blends well in this rum.

Seriously, all this foursquare are more or less the same, and this is an tremendous achievement. Rarely a fallout to below the 70 points. Bourbon cask leaves vanilla and spices, some coconut, and overall a bit boring but reliable profile, even with these ib's
