Surprisingly firm for 40% — a couple of tasters actually call it hot for the strength. This is young Martinique agricole: grassy sugarcane, green apple, a menthol edge, and that vegetal bite. Some find it "easy to drink" with good value; others hit bitterness on the finish and reach for cola. Only a year in wood, so it stays light and a touch short.

Tasted this at an hotel in Paris the evening before Whisky Live 2026. It’s a soft, fresh and golden colored rum from Martinique. In the nose and at the palate I found honey, caramel, roasted oak, vanilla and grass.

Not my rum at all. It tastes very fruity and herbal, but also very alcoholic. Agricole definitely comes to the fore. But relatively bitter in taste and then also in the finish. Doesn't have to be.

A good amber rum that can be drunk alone or in a cocktail. For my part, I find it rather strong for 40 degrees. A good quality-price ratio, so I find this bottle very interesting!

Now a Trois Rivieres. This rum also doesn't suit my taste. Burns quite a bit in the finish. Slight notes of green apple to smell and also taste. Quite okay with cola, not enjoyable neat.
