'Sherry' galore, and sea - yes, I smell a bit of seafood here. Incredibly complex on the palate for 6 years. Heavy sweetness, berries, toasty. Caramel, light and red berries in the second half.

Very awesome balance of Madeira wine sweet, light acidity, barrel notes, sulfur, dark berries and the Rhum Agricole. Harmonious, elegant and delicious! Can easily keep up with partly twice as old rhum agricoles💣👌🏽

Very divisive, I hear. But purée, it's all there. A suave red fruit roundness. Controlled tannin, yes yes with sulphur, but that takes it to the next level. And we're there. All right, let's go for a 2nd bottle very quickly.

Thanks to Pedro Ferreira, who gave my in-laws some rum samples :-) The oldest rum of O Reizinho and I feel that the complexity decreases a bit, on the other hand the roundness increases significantly. A very round nose, characterized on the one hand by all sorts of chocolates with toasted aromas, and on the other by vegetal and citrus sugar cane. In the mouth chocolaty, mild, alcohol not noticeable at all, though an intense sherry note in finish that seems too dominant for me. Crass stuff, even if the three-year-old Burder is a bit more complex!

Sensational Agricole from Madeira! Roasty, full-bodied and complex. Clear favorite of the line-up.

The nose is intense and intriguing with sulfur, mixed fruit (raisins), chocolate, cognac and sugar cane/caramel. On the palate it is delicate, but not for that reason with little character, mostly date notes can be felt, then apples and cognac followed by some peppery and others sweet and soft almost honeyed. In the finish some sulfur and plum returns and the wood becomes more defined giving some body. In the empty glass young wood, dates and sulfur. Very good and amiable in its Madeiran personality, easy and pleasant drinking

Rhum très gourmand avec un nez fumé sur le fruit confit et le sirop de canne à sucre. Attaque ronde, sucrée qui vire sur les fruits confits pour finir durablement sur le rhum vieux des Antilles.
Review by Johannes
Very nicely round balanced! It lacks a little complexity for me. Taste-wise, it reminds me of the Rhum Liberation 2017, which, however, has significantly more complexity.

Super toller rum. Das Fass so zu schmecken ist eine Freude. Sieger des Line ups.

With retention time steadily more caramel. However, the slightly sulfurous taste remains. Therefore, for me Good but not very good.
Review by mto75
On the nose and palate caramel-sweet and floral notes. In the finish, however, quite tangy...the also 6-year-old Engenho Novo from Barikenn I liked overall still a little better.

Burnt coconut, winey dried fruits and caramelised popcorn on the nose. It’s heavily spiced with lots of peppers. The result is tannic and phenolated, tarry and -for me personally- (too) musty. The nose is young and aggressive, and unfortunately presents itself overly sharp. Luckily much smoother going down. Sugarcane followed by a mixture of honeyed and salted nuts. Very singular complexity. There’s more dried fruit tannins as well as -regrettably- more must, moss and wet potting soil. It’s a good product, and the alcohol is integrated well, in contrast to the nose. Sadly, I am not a big fan of this type of agricole with this level of “gardening notes”.

I have had a few Madeira rums and generally am a big fan. This one is one of the better ones I have had. It’s fairly complex for a young rum. Nose is chocolate and marzipan with some raw ethanol notes towards the back. Mouth is dry and moorish, with charred barrel and almonds offset by ripe fig. The finish is spicy and warm with great length, more noticeable is the young wood but it all works rather well. Would be happy to have this on my shelf

Too woody for me. Doesn't leave enough room for the rest for my taste.
Review by Jakob
Round, sweet, pleasing - but without the real wow effect. Solid in a positive sense and absolutely suitable as an easy sipper, but the bottling does not qualify for more in my book.
