Wow, this is a great release. Despite the age the wood is extremely light giving the other flavours more space to bloom. I really like the marzipan on the back of your palate 😊 This is a very limited release for a Danish shop and they nailed it in my mind.

Tasted in direct comparison to RX11400. No difference in color. Nose: also hardly any difference, maybe a bit less funk and fruit here. Palate: alcohol better integrated, and a touch less funky/fruity. Overall the difference is marginal.

A very smooth, fruity, gourmet palate with no trace of wood despite 28 years in barrel. A slight lack of texture and length to make it all great. Still, a very fine selection.

... Hampden, the legendary Jamaican distillery that besides rum also produces alcohol for perfumes. In all rums from this distillery, you can smell wild esters, after which your whole body soaks up the scent of yellow tropical fruits - mango, papaya, pineapple, peach. One of the rums you "must try before you die".

It is clearly behind the Nobilis Hampden 1993. The nose is really great but the taste lacks the Hampden punch. The nose saves the points here.

1993 Hampden is not my favorite vintage. It is of course still high Hampden quality, but the vintage has a lot of acidity and the Romdeluxe has a little more than the 1993 from Salon du Rhum, for example.

The nose is amazing. Really intense. Beautiful pineapple, olive ester notes. On the palate, quite funky. The pineapple is very dominant for me and really stays in the mouth for a while. Really nice drop.
