Overall an elegant Agricole that bears traces of the aging in former Cognac casks. The nose is robust, floral and fruity with aroma of honey. At the palate and during the rather long finish it’s elegant, floral, spicy and fruity with flavors of cognac.

After a big airing the nose is very flattering, vanilla and candied fruits dominate. Slightly disappointed on the palate, the rum seems "too sweet" for my taste. It lacks a bit of pep, the wood and vanilla still there. Agricultural rum glug-glug, slight preference for the XO.

Needs a very long aeration, at least 20 minutes in the glass for the solvent side to diminish and give way to the product. However, for 40 euros less I find the XO more satisfying.

On the nose, it's delicate with wood, tobacco, burnt sugar, chocolate, leather, a hint of solvent that then disappears, and some dried fruit with few spices. On the palate, it's elegantly aged (maybe it got too much oxygen or the bottle was poorly sealed?), woody, sticky, with aromas of leather, chocolate, tobacco, mild sweet spices, and a bit of caramel on a medium-length finish. It leaves a dry and woody/corky aftertaste. In the empty glass, aged notes. The rating fluctuates between 8.6/8.7.

Very nice nose, classic Mauny, but intense and flattering. The palate is superior to the XO, you can clearly feel the cognac cask, which complements the candied fruits, flowers, wood, and slight vanilla. It’s very indulgent. Finish too short for my taste, which is due to the reduction.
