Best sipped neat with a drop of water to tame the 62.5% heat. This 16-year Savanna agricole leans woody and dry, with tropical fruit, dark chocolate, salted caramel and a menthol streak on the finish. A few tasters caught glue and overripe strawberry too. Rounder than most Savannas thanks to the bourbon cask, but several found it tannin-heavy and a touch too dry.

Surprising Cask Strength Savanna from plantation. Intense cocoa, grapefruit, lots of wood and salted caramel, astringent and tannic. Then in the finish some typical menthol and overripe strawberry.

Rums from the Savanna distillery are among my favorites. I recommend everyone try especially the ester-heavy pieces like Grand Arome or HERR. You haven't felt so much fruit in just a few drops of liquid for a long time.

The nose opens with ripe fruits, vanilla and some glue, accompanied by noticeable spice. On the palate powerful with dried fruits, dark chocolate and a slightly bitter wood note. The alcohol brings intensity but does not always feel perfectly integrated. The finish is long and spicy, with a dry bitter note. An exciting Savanna that shows edges and corners but does not completely convince in every facet.

#4553 18.01.2024 Flipping a few samples today ☺️ A pretty ok release with a medium fruity and medium dry profile. The Agricole notes are also there and the palate has some added grass and roasted note. The finish is medium to long with light dryness. There is a faint cherry and caramel note in the profile. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass has light coffee and faint chocolate.

Doesn't taste like a Savanna in the mouth, lots of roundness and indulgence due to the bourbon barrel and the agricole. Tasted at the Rhum Club Paris evening (Hôtel Maison Mère).

Woody, rough, alcoholic, astringent and pungent. Not my thing at all. It's still a bit fruity, with a grapefruit-like bitterness. But I don't like it.
