Kinghaven Hampden Premium Single Cask Rum LROK 2007
Sip this one neat and slow — it opens with a wall of esters and that "nail salon" solvent kick, then rewards you with big overripe pineapple, banana and a little marzipan. One taster caught a sour-cheese, old-sock funk on the nose that somehow works. At 62% it's young and a bit wild, so a drop of water helps the fruit come through.

Everything you would expect from a Hampden. Great bottling! Reminds more of a C<>H than a LROK.

Leider einen Whisky Note, die ich nicht so mag. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob ich zuletzt nicht einen anderen Rum im Glas hatte. Dieses Sample ist ein perfekter Hampden. Ich habe nichts auszusetzen.

Tasted together with the Rumclub HD 2000 ED.21 (LROK, RX11190) and Kill Devil Jamaica 2007 (C<>H, RX1921)Already the color is more similar to the 07'er.Nose: Stronger than the ED.21 but more one-sided. Powerful esters and overripe pineapple and a little marzipan. Again great similarity to 07'er C<>Mouth: an ester steamroller! The entire mouth space is immediately filled. Alcohol and barrel influence show through. But the flavor explosion also dissipates relatively quickly. Almost identical taste and mouthfeel on the C<>H.Finish: The barrel influence gets stronger. Kingsheaven and Kill Devil are virtually indistinguishable.I am now certain: the Mark LROK on the Kingsheaven is a mistake. Blind I would not be able to tell the Kill Devil and the Kingsheaven apart.

Very solid 2007 C<>H, with a LROK as noted on the bottle has nothing to do. See him but rather in the lower midfield of the known 2007 bottlings.

Marka C<>H je moje jednoznačně nejiblíbenější hampden marka, a ač tady tvrdí bottler LROK tak bych ho rozhodně netipnul. Jedná se o krásný ovocný kousek, plný ananasu a banánů ve vůni i chuti. Moc hezké.

טעימה יופי של דבר. המארק הזה הוא ללא ספק מהטובים אם לא הכי טוב שיש להאמפדן להציע. בקבוק טוב מאוד, עשיר, טרופי, אסטרי, חזק. מרגישים שהוא בהיר ואת האמת אני אוהב את ההוצאה האלה שהם לא ביישון טרופי. חייב להגיד שהיו עליו מספר מבצעים שחתכו אותו ב30-40 אחוז במחיר. עדין לא קניתי. יש כל כך הרבה אלטרנטיבות ודברים מקבילים שהם יותר טובים. ועדין... רום טוב מאוד.

In the beginning too much of the nose/taste that doesn't resemble anything edible. After few sips banana and tropical fruits come which is nicely rewarding. But still perhaps over my current expertise level.
