A very well-aged and fruity rum from Martinique. On the nose I have great fruit notes, some wood, honey, tea and even an impression of cola. On the palate the muscat wine comes through well. Dried fruits, leather, vanilla and baking spices bring a magnificent fullness. The finish is not too intense, but still long and very harmonious. From dried fruits, barrel notes, spices to grapefruit everything is perfectly underlined by a nice eucalyptus note. Oh yes, the alcohol is excellently integrated. No trace of 52% vol. A great pleasure factor. Gladly again.

Yes, the New Grove DNA is already clearly recognizable on the nose. The alcohol is also well integrated. But overall, the rum is a little too tart and almost boring for me. Is this due to the Moscatel finish? Nevertheless, it's still a good rum, even if it's not at the top of the New Grove league.

What can I say, the 2009 Chestnut brother / sister was more to my liking. The finish is a bit overwhelming leaving no room for the character of the spirit (except for some fruits / red tea on the nose). It is nice but pretty generic at the same time.

The last one for me from the S.B.S Mauritius series, but somehow it doesn't pick me up. The nose is quite woody, but dried fruits are also recognizable. On the palate there is also wood/oak, but also some red wine.
