"A dream of a rum," one taster called it, and the reviews back that up. This 1994 Enmore is all dark, deep tones — plum and dried prunes, leather, tobacco, roasted wood and a licorice finish. Several call the 50.4% ABV beautifully integrated, hardly noticeable given the complexity. A couple find it a touch too woody and less fruity than sibling 1994 Enmores.

Simply to kneel down! This malty smoothness. Almost perfect. I already know why REVs from the 1994 vintage are at the top of my list - and for me this is the best of them so far, the Primus. This rum is the second best I have ever tasted. It comes right after the Uitvlugt 1988 from Velier (RX3502). 😍😍 P. S.: I like it even better now than when I first tasted it five months ago. Back then, I discovered a bottle of the rum on the shelf of a store and couldn't believe my eyes - what a lucky find! Update 2024-10-12 REV-1994-Tasting Here is my ranking (nose and palate impressions each accounted for 50% of the overall rating, in the event of a tie, the length of the finish was the deciding factor, as was the case with ranks 1-3, which were incredibly close together): 1ST RX12425 2ND RX121 3. RX11107 4. RX21851 5. RX12203 6. 11402 Attention, daily form should not be underestimated!

A wonderfully full-bodied and round rum.Already the nose is fantastic: intense and compact, spicy-woody and fresh-fruity at the same time. Beautiful old oak is surrounded by malty chocolate. There's some wood acidity at first, which is immediately joined by orange and lemon. Plus some prune and a sweetness like maple syrup with honey and candied fruit. The palate is also full-bodied, complex and round. Very dark-malty, spicy and woody. Slightly bitter-salty with wood acidity and tart mild pecan. Now some juicy prune comes through as well. Out the back more wood again with noticeable licorice, new leather and fresh tobacco. The finish is licorice, wood and prune. Also brilliant.Overall a great, old and wonderful drop. Simply to enjoy!

A rum tasted at Whisky Live Paris in 2025. A dark, powerful and majestic nose with a very marked woodiness (old varnished wood), you are definitely at Enmore. Prunes and candied fruits too. On the palate the wood is also very marked and masks the other aromas a bit, I find the palate less impressive than the nose. The finish is long, especially the old varnished wood which lasts very long. A very beautiful rum!

#5477 12.07.2025 Late tasting with a set of friends and I'm always happy when we meet up. Nose Round, balanced, complex, plum, faint pencil shavings, light raisin, cinnamon, light vegetal. Palate Oily, round, balanced, complex, light plum, faint pencil shavings, dried fruit, light cinnamon, light vegetal, medium dry. Finish Long, oily, medium dry, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, spice, faint citrus. Empty glass Spice, light chocolate, faint peach, light caramel. Needs to rest for a good while to really open up properly.

A dream of a rum. Lots of plum and dark aromas like leather, tobacco, and spices. There’s no break between the palate and the finish. The flavour carries through perfectly with well-integrated alcohol!

...a great REV Lots of spice, dark dried fruits, light citrus fruits, and heavy molasses on the nose... alcohol perfectly integrated. On the palate Mmh brutally tasty, very heavy, sweet, thick... dark chocolate, raisin, plum, a bit of mint. Alcohol incredibly well integrated. Top!!!

This brilliant Enmore drinks buttery smooth and is at the same time very complex and well-balanced. On the nose, I get many dark notes of leather, dried plum, cask, cherry, dried fruits, wood, and cola. Candied fruits, spices, malt, and oak join in beautiful harmony. The palate is fantastic. Dried plum, spices, licorice, leather, roasted wood, cask notes, and tobacco lead over to plum, caramel malt, dried fruits, and burnt sugar. The alcohol is perfectly integrated and not noticeable when you engage with the immense complexity. The long and harmonious finish offers the aromas that also unfold on the palate and shines with a nice herbal note. Licorice, wood, and roasted notes are present at all times and provide this beautiful, deep spiciness. Thanks to @Skyfly for this great sample 😀

Classic REV profile in a relatively clear form. Can not keep up with the absolute REV top representatives, but thanks to the ingenious basic profile, this is still a top rum.

Notes from Whisky Live 2025, also available on the blog. Coming out very disappointed from Silver Seal, I arrived at 3 Wild Parrot. This Enmore 1994 really caught my eye. I found it particularly fruity, with apricot and very, very rich, on top of the usual heavy, spicy, and licorice notes. Really very cool. A little surprise when I saw it was already rated 9.2 on RumX, definitely a great rum!

Classic and delicious 94 REV profile. Juicy plum meets dark chocolate and tobacco. Complex and a nice long finish. Let's see how it performs in a blind tasting against other representatives of the vintage.

💥 Enmore 1994: a knockout! Everything comes together perfectly, with an incredible length featuring notes of raspberry and blueberry. Clearly the best REV 1994 I've tasted so far — my big favorite of the event ❤️ Right behind, the TDL 2002, perfectly balanced, unfolds a beautiful peach thread. A real treat! 🍑 Interesting comparison between the two Caroni 1998s, with a preference for the red label. The white label even had some notes... of smoked ham 😉 The Savanna 2007 remained well concentrated and aromatic, the New Yarmouth 2009 offered a nice length with a slight woodiness, and the Diamond 2001 charmed with its indulgent, pastry-like side, reminiscent of an El Dorado Skeldon. In summary, a very nice series overall, except for the Fiji, with a really too atypical profile — clearly the least convincing of the The Wild Parrot bottlings tasted so far.

WLP 2025 I first got my hands on this piece at this year's Whisky Life Paris 2025 and now I'm coming back to it for the second time, calmly at home. Again, a beautiful REV from 1994, once more a wonderful showcase of the perfection of this brand from that vintage.

An insanely intense yet soft Enmore. On the nose, you get sweet burnt sugar, lots of old dark wood, and dried plum. The spiciness leans towards herbal. On the palate, it is sweet and creamy, although equally intense and woody. You have caramel, oak, and plum on the tongue. Leather and herbs mix in as well. A very long finish full of wood, licorice, and burnt sugar. Burnt rye bread and thyme later settle in the mouth like fog on a meadow. For everyone who has already tried most things and is looking for spectacular complexity.

Hilarious representative of the 1994 vintage. For a 50.4% bottle, it is beautifully balanced with no harsh finish. Aromas of plum and prune. Flavors of plum that go to the sweetness of brown sugar. Woodiness and liquorice on the finish
