Hampden Rum Artesanal HD (Whiskytempel) C<>H 1993
One reviewer called it "flüssiges Gold" — and the funk crowd agrees. Nose is pure Hampden: glue, nail polish, esters and a fruit basket of pineapple and overripe tropical fruit, rounded off by 28 years of cask. Warm and dry on the palate with faint chocolate. A few taste some bitterness and tannin from the long aging, but most rate it near the top of the HD 1993 pack.

Oh, was für ein Duft! Von Alter wunderbar rund geschliffen, nicht vergleichbar mit dem zuvor verkosteten C<>H aus 2007, viel eleganter und absolut keine störende Alkoholnote. Am Gaumen dann doch recht scharf und viel Klebstoff. Im Nachklang kann ich die lange Reifung an den kräftigen Fassnoten erahnen. Irgendwie stört mich hier auch die Bitterkeit und die Tannine. War der Rum schon zu lange im Fass? Trotzdem ein ausgezeichneter Hampden!

#4808 11.08.2024 Enjoying some samples at home. Nose Light wood, glue, esters, fruity, overripe, pineapple, light vegetal, faint citrus. Palate Warm, light wood, esters, light glue, fruity, overripe, light floral, faint smoke, faint chocolate. Finish Long and warm, light wood, faint roasted, medium dry, ester, faint chocolate, pineapple, light citrus. The empty glass has stronger chocolate and light banana.

Classic high ester Hampden 😍 Lovely funky nose of ester, glue, nail polish, fruit basket and a bit of wood. Funky, dry, delicious in nose where you’ll find all the notes again. Very smooth finish. Alcohol is integrated very well. The wood is integrated in a nice way and never become rampant. Unfortunately hard to find now… the price tag exploded too…

Was für ein überwältigender Geruch. Man will für Stunden gar nicht aufhören. Ein Hampden at its best. Nagellack, Ester und Klebstoff sind purer Funk. Das zieht sich dann auch geschmacklich durch. Ergänzt um Ananas und einen tropischen Fruchtkorb. Langer und trockener Abgang mit etwas Kakao. Ein absolutes Brett.

Clearly better than the sister barrel with 63.5%, but not quite as epic as other representatives of the HD 93 faction. Mai Tai also very solid 🇯🇲😬

Really good 93 ... in comparison with the Nobilis 1993, the Nobilis is slightly ahead here, at least for me.
