Sehr intensive Nase, die Lust auf mehr macht. Am Gaumen startet er voluminös, vollfruchtig, doch dann kommt sehr schnell alles überlagernder Schwefel in Aktion, der all die tollen Versprechungen überlagert. Der Abgang ist deutlich vom Schwefel geprägt. Ist mir hier deutlich zu schweflig. Also sowas, das hätte ich mir bei besten Willen nicht vorstellen können. Danke @Boletus, hatte die Flasche für den UVP schon des öfteren im Warenkorb...

A pure delight. So good that I decided to send my first tasting to RumX after years of reading others'. A charming nose, a fruity palate, an incredibly smooth length for the degrees displayed. Everything I expect from a rum: joy, strength, but also tenderness. There are only 122 bottles, so I'm lucky to have one. Magnificent!

Der hier zur Reifung gebrachte Grundstoff ist wirklich schön und hat alles, was ein nicht zu lange gereifter Agricole benötigt, um mir zu gefallen. Die pflanzlichen Noten von Zuckerrohr und Kräuter sind ebenso vorhanden wie leckere Früchte und Gewürze. Leider hat anscheinend das Reifungsfass im Laufe seines Daseins schon mal Kontakt mit einer Schwefelkerze gehabt, weshalb sich auch eine schmutzige Seite mit Aromen wie Gummiabrieb und Schwarzpulver zeigt, die mir den Genuss doch etwas vergällt. Zum Glück wirkt das mit einiger Verspätung beim Nachgeschmack eintreffende Echo der Tropenfrüchte versöhnend auf meinen Gaumen ein und sorgt für einen noch angenehmen Gesamteindruck. Wer kein Problem mit diesen Schwefelnoten hat, wird an diesem Rhum sicher mehr Gefallen finden als ich.
