Nice Travellers. Has a faint smokiness towards the end alongside the more common notes you would except. Alcohol is quite present on the nose and throughout.

Once again you get a lot for your money with this release. Fruity with roasted/smoky wood notes and light spices. I like the warmth on the palate as well as the light caramel and wood notes.

The chocolate stays on the palate for a very long time and is extremely strong but still pleasant because the alcohol is very well integrated. On the nose metallic (remnants of sharpened pencil) and burnt bacon.

On the nose initially clearly alcoholic, on the palate then more accessible Belize. At eight years it still clearly lacks the power that, for example, an FRC 2006 radiates. Lots of caramel, coconut, spice, it's typical Belize. Good rum but for me also a bit boring.

On the nose, it only really opened up with a little water. Alcoholic, wood, both freshly cut and slightly smoky. On the palate then, of course, much stronger with lots of dry spice.

That was my first cask strength. I still find the Belize wonderful to sip, nice fruity, sweet notes with caramel, wood. Coconut also comes through at the end.

Honestly, I don't like this S.B.S. at all right now. For me, it's way too chocolate-heavy. Otherwise, a bit of caramel on the nose and some vanilla on the palate. But unfortunately not a highlight from S.B.S.

Relatively restrained nose, taste-wise alcohol quite well integrated but also quite one-dimensional, not particularly complex and I especially miss any fruit here. The otherwise typical pineapple note is practically absent. Instead mainly nutty, spicy, smoky and slightly bitter with strong mocha and hazelnuts as well as salted caramel. All in all, a quite solid Cask Strength Belize at a fair price!

Tasty but one-dimensional. Nose very restrained, but also surprisingly spicy. On the palate this impression is confirmed, plus quite a bit of wood and an interesting smokiness. Unfortunately, the alcohol is quite prominent and probably covers other more subtle aromas. Also coconut and caramel and a hint of vanilla, probably typical for Travellers. Pleasant sipper from Belize, but otherwise no highlight!

My RumRatings review from 4 years ago: I first always tasted the rum at full cask strength and have to say that the rum is very closed on the nose and palate. Also, the rum has such a bite that drinking and tasting didn't really please me. A few drops of water greatly enhanced the rum for me, so I also did the rating in the diluted state. On the nose, the rum shows a nice intense spice with lots of caramel, roasted aromas, vanilla, a nice nutty note, orange peel, and wood. Not exciting, but the caramel and roasted aromas harmonize very well together. On the palate, the spice continues very clearly. Again caramel with distinct cask influence. Woody with a peppery-smoky sharpness and dried fruits. Plus vanilla and mocha. The whole is pleasantly creamy and the finish becomes more bitter. Dark chocolate, smoke, and again pepper. The rum ends dry and woody. A rum I like well without it impressing me. For me, it definitely needs some water, otherwise it is a bit too intense. The aromas are not worth the adventure to me. Diluted it is a nice sipper with great spice.
