Very surprising! The walnut-coffee-burnt-caramel side is overrepresented from start to finish... This combination crushes everything and it's a shame because it has potential to be better. Too bad, the additives are noticeable...

Overall I think it’s balanced and smooth. It’s a blend of rum from Guyana at 75,5%. There’s as far as I know two older versions of the Overproof. The oldest on with a blue label at 75% is a blend of rum from Guyana and Trinidad. Thereafter they released a green label at 75% with a blend of rum from Guyana, Trinidad and Barbados which I believe went quite short lived. The big difference between this one and the Green Label 75% is that the Demerara impacts even more and that it’s a little bit less round in taste.

7,3:On the nose, lots of power and a good dose of caramel.It's also a very powdery nose, with a flinty quality.One might even think of gunpowder just exploded. One also thinks of something metallic, heavy and coppery, which gradually leads us towards oxidized fruits (apple/plum) in compote, even BBQ. Aeration calms the beast a little, it's quite violent and even more coppery. The nose is quite tight, still powerful and powdery. With a lot of rest, at least 15 minute, it takes on notes of fermented VEGETABLE, some HERBAL notes, but above all roasted nuts, cocoa. 7:The attack on the palate is intense, coppery, dry and armored. This is hot stuff, and the taste buds are hyperstimulated! The powder takes on a cocoa-like quality, burnt sugar, notes of fermentation, herbs and copper intermingle, and power returns in devastating waves. A little prune passes through the eye of the storm, some raisins.It's worth noting, however, that this rum is well made, for although it's extremely powerful, you don't feel the aromas of alcohol. 7,3:The finish is with sherry-like notes of oxidation, nuts and prunes, some spiciness, licorice and herbs. #6647 13.04.2026 Relaxing with a few samples after work while listening to some Armin van Buuren mixes ong Spotify. Pretty good rum considering the price tag. The nose is medium intense with nice wood, roasted nutts, cinnamon, light earthy, leather and dried fruit. The palate is round and woody with caramel, leather, dried fruit, light spicy, cinnamon, faint marzipan and light tobacco. The finish is extremely long and warm with roasted wood, raisin, caramel, cinnamon and light tobacco.

On the nose there is cocoa, coffee and raisin. A hint of alcohol. In the mouth it's cocoa and a noticeable alcohol. Personally, I would probably have preferred it a bit lower in percentage.

IT is Perfect to drink with rock ice or in cocktails. A lot of carmel and chookolate. Medium finish.

Intense heat but also lots of yummy flavor in the strongest rum I own to date. Noticeably sweet but not too much so. I don't know the specific dosage (if any), maybe it helps more than I realize. Complex, layered. Lots of smells among which are burnt, caramelized demerara, cookie dough, hot and peppery as well as some licorice deep in there. They carry on through to the tongue, where the volatile astringency of a chemical, solvent nature joins in. The caramel notes keep up with the spicy notes and even to my inexperienced palate it is remarkably kind. I daresay I've had wines that were rougher on my senses and more likely to cause me to choke than this (not kidding)! Without considering the ABV this is already a tasty flavorbomb. But considering its strength this one could also easily have had a OFTD-style moniker in my mind (though I haven't tasted the OFTD neat yet as of this writing). It's still too strong to drink neat for my sensibilities but goddamn if this didn't impress my socks off!

It's a strong rum so it attacks fiercely. You can tell it's strong, but perhaps not as strong as it actually is, which is a good sign for a strong alcohol. For me it's too caramel, but it's something everyone should expect from Pusser's so I won't hold it against it.
