Expect dried apricot and orange peel over roasted coffee, burnt sugar, tar and smoke, with a spicy clove-and-pepper kick. Yummy 😋 😋 this is powerful, kicks a punch and I really really like it! It has some similarities in intensity and heaviness to the Grand Arome - Plantation Reunion Rye Whiskey, that I also like, but this is less sweet and much better balanced and has a much much higher quality over all. The intensity is not for all and it’s certainly not a beginners rum, but I enjoy this immensely. So happy that I now got a couple of bottles of this rum as it’s getting hard to get hold of. - Getting back to this bottle every other month and… yummy 😋 - This time tasting with some rum nerds and it’s really really nice.

St. Lucia can be very diverse: sometimes towards Barbados, sometimes towards Jamaica or even some Guyana - this one is more Jamaican.The nose is still a bit closed, very balanced between fruit, herbs and spices. Even after hours in the glass, this isn't quite the big explosion, but in the mouth it's great cinema This is the Chairman's with the best mouthfeel I've tasted so far - very fruity and fantastic alcohol integration. Besides the overripe tropical fruit, ginger and fresh herbaceous menthol notes.Compared to the GotA a bit juicier and not as extremely dry. As with the GotA, I get strong Clarendon vibes - I mean that as a compliment 😉.The finish is surprisingly dark with coffee (chewing beans) as the lead note, then menthol and herbs. Top!

The claps so right in and pushes you well forward! 🤣 extremely intense and long lasting. horny number and unusually smoky almost after fresh street tar a la Caroni along with dark caramel and dark chocolate like Werthers best one smoked over the road, then some dates and sea salt, as well as dried apricots and leather. Very very tasty and balanced although I don't really like it that smoky. But the really fun!

A nose where the alcohol dominates and you have to look in the background for aromas of old varnished wood and overripe tropical fruits. The palate starts gently, then a warm alcohol saturated with old wood and fruits in the background takes over. The finish is rather short, although a caramel aroma that is a bit too bitter lingers very long. Not my best experience of Saint Lucia rum. A rum where the alcohol is clearly too present for my taste. It improves significantly when the glass is empty.

Nose goes first towards Jamaica Clarendon EMB was my first thought .... only briefly then he opens so slowly and it comes a nice sweetness and reminds me something of candied apple and lychee. On the palate again first thought Jamaica.... EMB boa very cool !!! Is this really a Chairmans? In the finish then you feel the genes ... Great stuff 👍

Wow, St. Lucia par excellence! This bottling is for me one of the best Chairman's, which I was allowed to try so far and I have so far thrilled some! On the nose, a spicy depth that reminds me of dark fruits and somewhat reminiscent of old Demeraras (even if these are a different house number) surrounds me. To this I find a caramel sweetness that almost slips into the dirty corner, reminding me of tar and shaking hands with herbal notes of tea. On the palate, the spicy, dirty overall impression is confirmed and I have to think directly of the Chairman's selected by GotA. A direct comparison will probably be mandatory in the near future. As already on the nose, the rum impresses with its depth and complexity, even if little to no fruit flavors are found here, but neat bitterness from the barrel. The finish also does not spoil the overall impression and lingers on for a long time, where I am again able to find new flavors of menthol and pineapple. This Chairman's is for me a real blast! Fortunately, I have bought here sales equal to several samples, so I can enjoy him a few more times!

Another tasting from 2021. Thinking about the price tag you get a lot for your money with this release. Nice and intense release with workshop notes. Once rested fruits and roasted wood greets you and it has a nice balance and good ABV integration. The empty glass is really nice with some mint and coffee. I made a note that some of the flavours were still in the glass after 2 days!

A pleasant fruity (orange / apricot) spicy nose with light alcohol. On the palate, first sweetness of burnt sugar, which then changes to a toasty, after old barrel and pimento notes! The taste of strong espresso also joins in! The finish is initially toasty, spicy and after old barrel ! Then develops a taste of dried fruit (apricot)! An intense, woody, spicy rum, where only the not perfectly integrated alcohol prevents a top rating! In cross-comparison to the German and the new GotA, the Nectar remains for me still the reference, although the GotA comes very close to him!

to the nose immediately pours an intense note of all kinds of dried fruit, accompanied by a beautiful caramel note and a slightly acidic note of red fruit. On the palate, however, very present toasted notes, mocha and cocoa. A real powerhouse 💪I like it very much! Maybe even a little better than the RA/RTN Master's Selection. However, I am also already very excited about the RumX successor 😊

What a rum! Very gentle nose, harmonious and complex. In the mouth, a little water helps to soften the intense feelings. The profile is balanced and coherent here as well, I especially like the roasty component, complemented by a vegetal (tea) note. Smoky aromas are very well integrated here without being disturbing.

Pungent nose. We feel that it will be strong. Citrus fruits that are complemented by a caramel or burnt sugar.In the mouth, it's strong. I find the wood too present and the whole lacks sweetness.Similar finish, with vegetal and earthy notes appearing.Not my cam.Better than The Whisky Exchange for me.Edit 15/06: much better today. More complexity. Better feel for the alcohol.

Great aroma of dried fruit with tropical combined with technical notes. I would almost believe it has a wine finish. The taste is a completely crazy combination of everything possible. Mainly tropical fruit, technical elements and spices. Great finish with some kind of Caroni dirtiness.

Most delicious nose immediately after pouring in a direct comparison of all 6 Chairman's tasted ... the others then catch up, but he remains far ahead for me. Also great on the palate with a great balance of wood and fruit. My winner of the 6

At the Community Tasting Nuremberg, the great crosstesting of the Chairman's bottlings was proclaimed as a motto. In advance, I have all tasted. To date, I knew only the bottling of Kirsch and Perola. I was surprised that the flavor profiles were so different and denoch no really bad, but also none was there that has really stood out from the others. But if you see what you get at Chairman's still for his money in return, I must really say CLASS. Will probably expand my collection in this area without a guilty conscience.

The nose reminds me of one of those Don Papa rums which is a huge downside for me. I like the taste though, strong stuff 💪🏻

Chairman's Tasting with 3x Vendome (Evanius Harris, RMW, Rum&Co), 1x Vendome & John Dore Blend (Nectar) and 2x John Dore (Kirsch, Rum Exchange). The Vendome bottlings a bit dirtier and more medicinal, the John Dore fruitier. Of the Vendome, the Evanius Harris was the most coherent for me. With the John Dore, the Rum Exchange would have won if it wasn't so woody (best on the nose), so the cherry tasted better to me. Overall, however, the No. 1 was the Necktar, which combined the best of both styles, was mild, tasty and matured to the point.

Reste d'un sample laissé de côté. J'en ai eu un très bon souvenir, voyons voir cela à tête reposée. 👃 Cela me rappelle un Armagnac Tenarèze cépage Ugni Blanc en chai sec. Très boisé, beaucoup de caramel, de crème brûlée maison, de fumée de bois, de réglisse, de café. Un peu de fumée goudronnante, de menthol. Le fruité en arrière-plan mais complet, sec, presque déshydratés. Fruits secs, abricot, prune, baies noires, baies rouges, agrumes en marmelade. 😋 Encore beaucoup de bois, mais aussi un aspect plus végétal, thé, menthe séchée, sève. Un côté Clarendon 95. Empyreumatique très prononcée, bois carbonisé, goudrons, sucre brûlé, cacao, réglisse chaude, grains de café torréfiés, du Cola brut, mélasse chaude. Quelques fruits secs et noires (baies déshydratées). ⛳ Longue, chaude, empyreumatique. Encore beaucoup de bois, douelles pimentées, café, réglisse vers le végétal, menthol, sève, goût du goudron, quelques fruits secs éparses. 💡 Très bon Saint-Lucia. Cela me donne envie d'essayer de mettre la main sur une série de samples de cette distillerie et de toutes les master's selection pour pouvoir les comparer. N.B. verre vide encore très expressif. Passe de 86 à 88, vraiment complet, évolutif et concentré. + 2 pts

Third in my 5 chairman's lineup. This one is shifted towards a cappuccino, which I personally dislike in rims, but it's up to my taste. The nose is less leather-ey and fruity, remains really closed. Drink side, it's really nice with great alcohol integration and despite the cappuccino is still there, there is a lot going on, with spices, wood and also some varnish

Great, ripe chairman with high intensity. Wonderfully balanced in profile, with fruit, nutty tones and wood. Edit: Have to revise upward as it tastes better to me each time. Simply great stuff.

Deceptively fruity profile. You get dried fruits from start to finish with a very subtle yellow banana undertone, that started filling the room as soon as I poured the sample. Nosing presents sugars of all kinds as well as old darkened oak. Remniscence of long steeped orange jaipur and stale tobacco. It presents itself quite sharp. I expect this to be hot and volatile. Tasting resumes the fruity structure. The sweetness turns to dark sugar, very dark. It’s woody and exceptionally toasty. There’s a very light peatiness. Don’t think peated whisky, think rich, earthy resin and roasted pinecones. And of course, as predicted: hot. The aftertaste is sweet and woody with again very light banana. The experience borderlines on being overoaked, but to me this is excellent. What a lovely spirit. Price/quality is very high at release.

Добавил немного воды. Нос сдержанный, но кажется классный…надо время. Легкий фанк, кофейная кислотность, лимон, сладкие фрукты, лакированная деревяшка, немного пряный. Мега насыщенный и крепкий, кислотная арабика, ягоды, древесина, лак. Продолжительное, вяжущее, кофейное, лаково-древесное, солоноватое. Это однозначно вкусно, но крепость сильно мешает.

Нос: тропические фрукты, чернослив, сладкий херес, мед и немного клея Момент. Такое впечатление что смешали хересную бомбу и Хэмпден) Вкус: Тропические фрукты, дуб, специи, орехи, смеси и снова же клей) Никакого ожега, несмотря на крепость! Потрясающе вкусно! Послевкусие: длительное, согревающее, мед с апельсином, и приятная дубовая сухость. Это пожалуй лучший ром по доступной цене. Браво The Nectar! 3333'92 P.S. Допиваю бутылку и добавляю бал, понимаю, что учитывая цену, для меня это лучший ром. Такое же впечатление на меня произвёл когда-то Velier Royal Navy Rum 57,18. Нет, они не похожи, но также не оставляют тебя равнодушным. Жаль что я случайно удалил свой старый аккаунт.

Meine RumRatings Review von vor 4 Jahren: In der Nase kommen schöne Chairman's Noten, die aber sehr ausbalanciert sind. Getrocknete tropische Frucht mit Rauch, Pfeffer und etwas Leder. Holz und Röstaromen. Am Gaumen ist der Rum für 64,4% ABV unheimlich ausbalanciert. Der Alkohol verteilt wunderbar die Aromen. Viel Würze mit Pfeffer, etwas Bitterstoffen und Eiche. Aber auch getrocknete Früchte und Mokka. Das ganze wurde karamellisiert ohne das es wirklich süß wird. Ein schöner Abgang der leicht astringent und pfeffrig ist. Ein absolut toller Rum. Die 15 Jahre machen den Rum schön rund und alles ist ausbalanciert. Viel Würze und ziemlich trocken ist der Rum ein wahrer Genuss.

Very welcoming nose of coconut oil (which disappears on the second sniff), solvents, an almost "Clarendon-like" fruitiness and a bit of leather. The palate is rather on this fruitiness with smoke and a slight salty side. It's intense. The aftertaste and finish are quite focused on the bitterness of the fruit, in a pleasant way with always this Clarendon side, but lighter. Also a slightly astringent and woody side. The alcohol is well integrated. Really a beautiful success.

-degusté en duel avec celui du bar 1802 Robe plus foncée (15 ans) Au nez : j’ai directement un ressenti peinture fraîche qui vient en premier plan. Y’a un bon côté boisé aussi qui ressort avec de la vanille, du cuir, et à la limite des légères notes torréfiées et de café. La vanille ressort de plus en plus et on tourne vers un côté limite pâtissier. Bizarrement ça reste assez vif au nez même si ici la trame fruitée/solvants n’est pas très présente mais elle permet de relever le boisé et lui donner un petit coup de folie/de vivacité. Bouche : alcool beaucoup plus présent, peut être à la limite du pas super bien intégré. 64,4% tu les sens, ça chauffe bien. Je rectifie après être retourné dedans l’alcool paraît bien bien intégré donc beaucoup plus plaisant. Contrairement à l’autre ou on était sur l’explosion aromatique, ici on sent que c’est principalement la composante boisée qui ressort, et que l’explosion aromatique se passe en arrière plan. Les fruits séchés qu’on retrouvait au nez sont aussi de la partie. Finale : fait fort saliver, moyenne a longue aussi avec plus d’amertume ici et du boisé. J’ai un petit côté orange séchée aussi qui débarque je ne sais pas d’où. Ici on est plus sur un profil robuste, boisé, avec beaucoup de corps. Tandis que sur le bar 1802 on est sur quelque chose de beaucoup plus explosif/vif avec une explosion d’arômes. Les deux restent très bien équilibrés. Deux profils qui sur papier semblerait proche, mais, tout en ayant des points de similitudes, propose deux univers bien différents.

I have had this rum several times and it remains really great. On the nose, I get lovely notes of resin, allspice, smoke, tar, petrol and tobacco. There is alsoo some fruit present in the form of orange peel and apricot. The flavour is spicier with cloves, ginger, allspice and pepper. Other notes I really like are those of incense, leather, citrus peel and tea. A great rum with a very good price at release.
