Foursquare Wagemut Special Edition 2021
Raisin, walnut and thick brown sugar lead here, with coffee and dark chocolate underneath — this 20-year Foursquare has clearly been married with a lot of sherry. Several tasters say it reads "eher Sherry als Rum" (more sherry than rum), rich and sticky-sweet. Blind, one member would have guessed an old sherry and been surprised by the strength. Lovely as a dessert pour if you like sweet.

Für mich einer der besten Rums, die ich bisher verkostet habe. Die Farbe, der Duft, der erste Schluck am Gaumen - für mich ein Meisterwerk. Rund, komplex, nicht zu süß. Wie gerne ich mehr als eine Flasche hätte..

#4703 20.04.2024 Relaxing at home after a long stressful week at work. Nose Fresh, lightly sweet, fruity, faint chocolate, plum, light pineapple. Palate Oily, round, wood, sweet, light pineapple, plum, faint roasted, light chocolate, light sherry, faint coffee. Finish Medium long, light wood, sweet, plum, light cherry, faint chocolate, faint caramel. Draws really nice curtains in the glass. The empty glass has some light herbs, faint coconut and stronger caramel. Price to quality is pretty good in my mind.

Die Kombination von Sherry und Foursquare ist meiner Meinung nach vollkommen gelungen! Eine nicht aufdringliche Süße vermischt sich mit der Kraft des Foursquare, die sehr gut zu genießen ist.

Tastes more like a really tasty strong sherry than rum. Nice idea to simply blend a 19y old Foursquare with good old sherry and sweeten it accordingly, but basically I would have preferred to try such an old Foursquare without blending and finishing. It's delicious but for me it doesn't have much to do with rum anymore tun🤷🏼♂️ but it's an expressive sipper that is more on the sweet side and certainly works great with a cigar or as a digestif!

Sehr Sherrylastig, viel Walnuss und typische Sherry Fruchtaromen, aber auch die typische Magginote, die einige alte Sherrys und Portweine besitzen und die ich sehr schätze. Ein paar Tropfen Wasser machen den Rum in meinen Augen etwas zugänglicher und nehmen ihm die schwere. Vom eigentlichen Rum bleibt nicht mehr viel, die lange Lagerzeit macht sich vielleicht im sehr runden Geschmack und gut eingebundenem Alkohol bemerkbar.

Zuckerbombe here you are. Tatsächlich eine der besseren Zuckerbomben mit fruchtigen Noten, Schokolade und röstaromen. Künstlich hervortretende Aromen gibt es nicht. Könnte echt super werden, mit höherem ABV und weniger Zucker

Ein top Wagemut. In der Nase hat man Kaffe, dunkle Schokolade und eine gewisse Röstigkeit. Riecht sehr gut. Im Gaumen dann Schokolade, dunkler Zucker und verschiedene Gewürze. Sehr lecker jedenfalls dieser Rum.

Nase gefällt mir echt gut. Erinnert an guten Sherry und Nachtisch. Am Gaumen mir persönlichen dann aber zu süß und „klebrig“. Eher Sherry als Rum. Zum Nachtisch aber wirklich lecker.

Süßer Rumpott mit einem Schuss Sherry. Lecker aber nicht unbedingt was man von einem Rum erwartet. Ein jüngerer Rum hätte es dafür vermutlich auch getan.
