Smells like a stew, the kind with gingerbread in it. More spice in the taste, as well as herbal candy and orange. Caramel in the finish. Not terribly sweet, which is quite exceptional in itself for a Riise's. It was in a set with 24 Riise's samples and this one was my favourite.

A bit more intense than others of the brand but no less sweet. Vanilla, fruit and cocoa dominate the flavor profile. After the second tasting, some points were deducted due to the exaggerated sweetness. A good rum but too expensive.

First off, the quality definitely doesn't match the price tag. But of course this is a limited release and it's in a carafe, but still a steep price. The nose is sweet and fruity with a lot of vanilla and some earthy notes. The palate is sweet and fruity and again with a lot of vanilla trailed by chocolate, smoke and tobacco. The finish is medium long with dried fruit, tobacco and vanilla.

Nose: coffee beans and greens, bacon, parsley, dill, basil Taste: parsley, chilli, bacon crisps, anchovies, oregano Finish: again parsley, dill, pepper, cheese and anchois ... I don't know what to make of it. It's a strange but tasty drink.

I only had a small sample, so the rating is a bit skewed... but only a little 😉 The nose is sweet and fruity from the start with lots of vanilla spice and smoke. The taste is accordingly sweet and fruity and depending on the nose also lots of vanilla, dried fruit, smoke, and chocolate. The finish is similar in taste and can't be said to be bad. Regardless of the sweetness, it's a pleasantly simple and unpretentious rum.

Probably the highest base from Santos...or certainly the most expensive. Truthfully, the decanter is nicer than what's inside. Otherwise, good rum on the same basis.

A representative of A.H. Riise that has a somewhat different nose with smoke, malt, earth, and dark spices. In the background, however, the extremely artificial candy box swells. The level of sweetness in the mouth is again strongly present. One can credit the rum for being somewhat more complex than other "Spirit Drinks" from A.H. Riise. It's not a normal rum, though.

On the nose sweet vanilla with a fruity note. On the palate a spicy surprise. Sweet smoke, wood from the cask. On the finish again pleasantly sweet and spicy.

No idea what that was supposed to be. Luckily it was just a sample from the Advent calendar... reminded me of my first attempts to ferment wine... turned into vinegar. That's how it smells here too, plus burning alcohol taste. Calling this a rum is cheeky, especially the price... Straight to the drain.
