Les Rhums du Sud Foursquare Barbados Pure Single Rum
Most tasters land in the "very good but classic Foursquare" camp — one calls it a lovely single cask, another shrugs that it's quality but interchangeable. Coconut leads hard, backed by vanilla, cream toffee and a fruity edge, then the cask strength kicks in with black pepper, nutmeg and a touch of wood glue. Dried fruit and raisin sit underneath. The finish runs a bit short.</</<parameter> <parameter name="review">Loved by Bajan-rum fans for its coconut-vanilla nose and complexity, though a few find it a touch spicy and hot on the palate, and the finish falls short.

Guillaume de Roany and “Les Rhums du Sud” selected a barrel, vintage 2008, from the Barbadian Foursquare distillery. Whereafter they sailed it to Europe and bottled 412 bottles at ABV 61,2%. Overall a delicious rum that can’t disappoint anyone liking Bajan rums.

Solid Foursquare without much fanfare. This can be seen positively, because quality is of course present - but viewed differently, it is also very interchangeable.

On the nose, drier, more solvent/wood glue with more alcohol. On the palate, the wood glue comes through strongly and it's an explosion of spices (pepper / nutmeg / ), stinging on the tongue and oral cavity. A firework display of spices and aromas. Medium-long finish, the palate becomes pasty (not very pleasant), with wood and spices coming through. We're less sure about the gourmand aspect.

A superb nose... Pity the explosion of spices on the palate... And a little too much alcohol... Great value for money though... Bravo to this bottler

Max. 1 pulka.
