Rums from the Savanna distillery are some of my favorites. I recommend everyone try especially the ester-heavy ones like Grand Arome or HERR. You haven't smelled that much fruit in just a few drops of liquid for a long time.

This one also needs to rest for a good while because it's really intense. Not as fruity but fresh with lovely floral/Agricole notes. Dry, warm and intense on the palate and a very long finish.

Wow. The impact is monstrous! Red fruits, cherry, raspberry, exotic fruits, esters, brine, the typical Savanna olive... the nose well followed by the mouth, a comforting finish, a nice richness... monstrous! Actively looking for a bottle!

Reminds me of sitting and eating olives in a nice garden during the summer months. Both in the nose and mouth. A very surprising rum.

Thanks to Filip for providing both samples, which allowed me to make a direct comparison. I preferred this one over the previous version with the lower ABV, as it shows some lovely ester notes along with sour cherry and citrus. The alcohol is also nicely integrated here.

Tasted at SoRhum Bordeaux, so not the best conditions, but I had to clean my palate a lot to get rid of this very olive rum in the mouth. It’s strong and powerful. Vegetal but also on the brine side. Worth trying.

And here, on the other hand, we can taste Savanna at a pleasant strength full of olives, floral tones. Taste is pleasant, complex and although the ABV is really high, it is beautifully integrated, nothing bites.... Really delicious!
