Sipped neat, this Panama column-still rum leans soft and sweet: vanilla, caramel, honey and dried cherries with just a whisper of oak despite the 30 years. One member called it "quite light and pleasant, alot of nuts and honey" but wished for more intensity — and that's the recurring note. Rich and easy-drinking, though a couple of tasters found it simply too sweet.

The best sweet Spanish styled I’ve ever tasted and of course it is from Panama which seems to be my favorite country of origin when it comes to sweet Spanish rum. Hard to see that any other should beat it.

I have very mixed feelings about this rum. On the nose it is nicely light, intense, round, vanilla, chocolate, and good coffee but on the palate despite good taste after 30 years very thin. The taste is really good, round old wood, coffee - vanilla and toffee, nice oily consistency. Unfortunately with too low ABV clearly mild. The finish not so long, you notice slight alcohol on the tongue and nice taste but after 30 years I expected more.

Another of the nice rums in the tasting today This is an even better version of the 21 year old. I think this one would merge well with a nice cigar in hand. Extremely well balanced and you can basically taste the age. The price tag for this bottle is very good compared to what you get.

The palate is extremely rich with flavors of dried cherries, sultanas, vanilla and a hint of nutmeg and banana. The finish is long and smooth with notes of baking spices.

👃 = You better like aromas of coffee and caramel, followed by orange, nuts, woodiness with notes of honey and vanilla.. 👄 = It's quite smooth with added dried fruits and a bit of cinnamon. The long finish adds pepper and a touch of chocolate. We have a blend of old rums that will please most people at the end of a meal with a cigar or a coffee 👍

Likely the most tasteful rum I've tried at 40% ABV. Starting Monday evening well, this rum has a fullness in the nose with hints of caramel tobacco and wood. In the notes I got vanilla, caramel and hints of bourbon. Minimal woody taste-notes, despite the high age

Not spectacular but also not a disaster. A smooth dark rum that already seems old but also sweetened and too thin. On the other hand, it sometimes has intense aromas for 40%. However, it really feels thin in the finish. My conclusion... Nice to have tried it, but simply too expensive for the price. Others can do better for less money.

Definitely not your run-of-the-mill representative from the Spanish segment, as it has a very balanced nose and intense flavor considering the 40%. Roasty barrel and wood aromas are present, as well as sweet hints underlined by dried fruits. Trying this rum with higher ABV would certainly be very exciting.

Al naso è intenso e caldo con sentori di pelle, vaniglia, cacao, caffè, miele, spezie e un po' di barile. Al palato è corposo e avvolgente, soprattutto dolce/mielato poi spezie (tra cui pepe), un po' di pelle/barile, cacao Tutto rotondo e con spessore. Nonostante la bassa gradazione dimostra una forza superiore.
