Uncomplicated Long Pond. Likes the aromas of green pepper and the fresh cedar of a new cigar box on the palate. But also lots of "green" notes on the palate. It tasted good, I wouldn't need a bottle.

Like with Plantation, I didn't have high expectations given the ABV of 49.4%. But this bottling is surprisingly good. Lots of glue and esters and strong, which wasn't expected. The finish is a bit short though.

8,5:On the nose, esters and glue, rubber, overripe tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, mango, dried apricots, raisins, toasted wood notes like caramel, burnt sugar, roasted nuts, spicy, smoky, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, marzipan and pastry arise, spicy vanilla and nutmeg, dairy hints, thick molasses, metallic patina and citrus fruits. 8,3:On the palate, the attack is fruity with overripe tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, dried fruits like raisins and apricots, citrus and hints of red fruits, some are candied, molasses is thick, dark with black tea, licorice, slightly bitter, cognac barrel impact is obvious, as the wood is toasted with dark chocolate, caramel, roasted nuts, leather, spicy with vanilla, nutmeg, green pepper. 8,4:The finish is long, dry and tannic, soft, slightly smoky, chemical with phenol, cognac barrel finish is obvious with leather, dried fruits, oak is toasted with caramel, nutty, spicy, warm, fruits are citrus, tropical.

Another Long Pond that comes across a bit weak, but it gets better soon :-) Also has a typical Jamaica nose. Tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, also esters. On the palate again caramel on the first sip, but this time it lasts longer, also wood, spice and tropical fruits.

Initially slightly sticky on the nose, then dried fruit, spices and caramel. Very accessible, even for beginners. A little flat on the palate, short finish. More ABV would be good! But I found it quite appealing

An old Long Pond bottled by Plantation. The nose reveals beautiful notes of ripe exotic fruits before letting sweet spices, marzipan, medicinal and phenolic notes (glue, solvents and esters) speak. The green apple is felt after aeration. A nice fruity and balanced profile overall. The attack in mouth is light, fruity and spicy. Citrus fruits (lemon peel), some bitterness, spicy notes and a touch of freshness and roasted flavors are felt. Some phenolic notes come in and recall Jamaican funk in small doses. The whole is very smooth and easy to drink. The finish, which lacks length, recalls citrus, exotic fruits, phenolic glue notes, spices, wood and the bitterness already mentioned earlier. Clearly not a revolutionary profile (especially for the age count) and may lack expression, but an approachable Long Pond, especially for beginners in the world of Jamaica. The price/performance ratio is not bad either.

Initially a slight sticky note on the nose, followed later by more dried fruit, spices and caramel. Overall very accessible and certainly something for rum newcomers. Unfortunately a little flat on the palate and a relatively short finish. A higher ABV would certainly do the rum good!

Nice fruity rum, although not extraordinary. Esters in the foreground but not too intense, glue and quite young wood in the background. Super relaxed to drink, has hints of "Spanish" rums on the palate.

Dünn und trotzdem biestig, eine schlimme Combi. Man findet von allem etwas Zitrusfruch, Holz, Gewürz, aber dennoch: die neutrale alkoholische Schärfe überdeckt leider vieles. Trinkgenuss für mich leider maximal angenehm, statt gut.

Here, a long elegant pond ! Usually I like them rather dirty and marked but this one is rather polished, plantation obliges! A complex nose and a tasty mouth, very nice success.
