Sipped neat at 50%, this is a classic 1990 Hampden that lives on the nose — an explosive tropical fruit basket of banana, mango and overripe pineapple wrapped in croissant and marzipan, with roasted wood underneath. The palate turns a touch earthy and plays sweet against sour pineapple. Several tasters note the dilution shows on the palate, thinner than the nose promises, but few hold it against a rum this rounded.

If you like Hampden then I can describe this rum in two words; Yum Yum. Explosive nose with lots of fruits and some roasted wood and pastries and it carries onto the profile as well. Well balanced and very good ABV integration.
