Considering the age and price tag this is a very good rum. Fruity with wonderful spices that makes it live up to the "Grand Arôme". Very intense in the flavours with a hint of licorice and mint. Price to quality is very good.

Being a big fan of high esters, I can't help but love this one. It's extremely aromatic and complex, with a nice dose of fruit (Tropical / Dry) and a great sweetness (Burnt toffee / Brioche / Cream / Pastry / Gingerbread), and the spices, although sweet, are quite present and accompany this sweetness wonderfully (Vanilla / Cinnamon / Clove / Nutmeg / Licorice). With all this, the long fermentation brings plenty of empyreumatic notes that harmonize perfectly with the rest (Rubber / Tar / Acetic / Copper / Smoke / Peat / Plastic). The iodized olive in brine is present from start to finish, like the conductor of this rum's orchestra. Wow, what a rum, just my style! Bravo Guillaume! 👏

I had to look this up after my first taste, as it did taste so much different than other Melasse Rums I thought it might be an Agricole after all. Quite fruity in a way I was not expecting and must be refined in a second tasting. I liked it very much. Second tasting: Thinking I found the reason it is so different, Caramel and malt go with grapes and herbs, but also some fresh sweetness. Are all Grand Aromes along those lines? Worth checking this out...

The fermented molasses gives a wide variety of empyreumatic esters, well complemented by barrel aging. A great discovery for lovers of the English woody style. The finish is extra rich and long.

Excellent GA from Ferroni! A little too woody on the palate to reach 90, but superb complexity for a 5-year-old rum. Express tasting. Needs more time to see evolution.

I really like the Grande Arome! However, I almost feel that with longer aging they tend to lose strength. I think this is the oldest GA I've drunk so far.

A powerful and very pleasant banana juice. Edit: 2nd tasting more accomplished. It's not just a banana juice. A pastry nose, full of esters and ripe fruits. A very powerful mouth, with omnipresent banana accompanied by caramelized sweetness, hints of licorice. An iodine side as well. Olive. An iodine finish again. Intense. Not an everyday rum. But it's very good.

Terrible! A surprise I did not expect. What a superb rum. You think the nose is excellent but the palate is a real slap of sweetness and aroma! Very very good, a rum with an impressive aromatic depth.

This is a complete mind blowing stuff, the rhum is clear but black. The taste is expected to be “young high Esther” but it vanishes with ginger and licorice… interesting and playful ! Given the price, the quality and the trip… this “rhum” is amazing.

The nose is great, it starts with solvents and vanilla, then after a few minutes, marzipan, smoke, tropical fruits, and spices come in and everything blends perfectly together. On the palate, it's complex with the same players as on the nose. It finishes with a nice medicinal freshness. A truly great aroma👌🏼

Magnificent Ferroni, big explosion in the mouth with lots of fruits, vanilla, caramel, spices, wood, a bit of Saumur on the length which by the way is rather long. I’m enjoying it 😍 It’s super well done
