End of the bottle and we're afraid the rum has stale. All the aromas are present, with perhaps a softening due to the long oxidation in the bottle. The nose is reminiscent of a machine shop, but also of tropical fruit. The palate is full and greedy. The finish is magnificent! An excellent representative of Caroni.

A Caroni as intense as it is elegant. Time has surely mellowed it, but the result is there: the nose offers a lovely contrast between the freshness of menthol, the roundness of dried fruit and caramel, spices and the empyreumatic notes of Caroni's style (licorice, smoky notes, hydrocarbons and well-roasted oak). A high-class rum. The attack on the palate is just as lively. The intensity of the oil and machine-shop notes rivals the warmth of the spices and smoky notes. A touch of saltiness and tropical fruit add a pleasant new dimension to the palate. Despite a powerful, dry profile, the alcohol remains very well integrated. The finish is extremely long, with mentholated, even medicinal notes, contrasted with warmer, roasted and bitter notes reminiscent of Caroni's dirty style. Exotic fruit, tire, rubber and tar all play off each other on the palate, exalting the senses. A rum that was clearly worth the effort when it was first released, and one that I'm sure you won't be able to taste any time soon. Nevertheless, this Millésime 2000 is a true nectar that perfectly represents the illustrious defunct distillery.

Wow, this one is very intense and complex. Perfect balance between fruits and typical dirty Caroni notes from 2000 vintage. This one outclasses its sister cask selected for Lion's Whisky by far. An amazing rum. Probably the best 2000 vintage together with The Nectar in my opinion 👌

The powerful aroma of the HTR mark Pungent on the palate, then gives way to the distillery's typical markers. Candied tropical limit fruits and cherry arrive at the back of the palate, with the HTR framework running throughout.

... Caroni je destilerie z Trinidadu, produkujici v dobe sve nejvetsi slavy rum, ktery se pridaval v pomeru 1:10 do namornickeho blendu. Byl totiz moc vyrazny a divny nez aby byl prijemny na jazyku. V roce 2000 destilerka skoncila s produkci a byla uzavrena. Az v roce 2010 se objevili degustatori, kteri si rum oblibili prave pro jeho specialni chut. A zajem rostl. Caroni patri do kategorie rumu "you need to try before you die". Doporucuji, Caroni je opravdu unikatni rum.
