"The nose is better than the palate" is the refrain here. Several tasters loved the smell — coconut, vanilla, creme brulee, even a cognac-like fruitiness — then found the 63.7% alcohol crashing over everything on the tongue. Underneath is cocoa, chocolate, light wood and a touch of varnish. A 15-year Travellers column-still rum that promises more than it lands.

Next up we have a really nice Travellers. On the nose it comes across mostly fruity, especially coconut can be recognized. On the palate the story changes. Here it becomes slightly sweetish, you can admire vanilla, chocolate and cocoa.

The Belize rums are always like a grab bag for me...you never know exactly what you're going to get! In this case, nothing special. While the nose is still pleasantly full of coconut, creme brulee and vanilla, it completely loses its way on the palate. The alcohol overshadows almost all the flavors...even after a longer lingering time, nothing really happens. At most, wood, allspice and a little too much black tea are recognizable, the finish is relatively short and just as unspectacular

02-09.04.2022 This was crazy week, where some friends and I rented a nice summerhouse on Rømø. The plan was to go nuts for a whole week with different rums without going overboard. The final agreement came to 6 rums a day and then enjoy nice walks or ferry rides during the day. Day 6 Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Fresh light wood, fruits, light orange, light nutts, faint varnish, light sugarcane. Palate Round, balanced, light varnish, light wood, faint smoke, sugarcane, light coconut. Finish Medium long, fresh, light wood, sugarcane, faint citrus. Extra note. Needs time to release all its flavours.

Surprising reminds me loads of an Armagnac/Cognac smelling it. Taste was good nothing crazy just a good rum!

Like many Belize rums, this one can only scratch the 8. Cocoa, vanilla, wood with caramelized cream are there. But as is often the case, it lacks a certain creaminess. Good, but nothing more.

Fruity and balanced nose, that evolves into a rather pungent and alcohol taste. Not well integrated and a bit disappointing because of the difference in nose and tongue. Finish rather ahort and not well integrated alcohol.
