Sip it neat and you get a properly festive nose — vanilla, toffee, cocoa, orange peel and rum-soaked Christmas cake. One taster caught real Jamaican funk and gingerbread, with honey and a bit of peppery spice on the palate. The recurring gripe: at 44% it reads thin, almost watery, and a few felt that softens it into something pleasant but easygoing rather than gripping.

Starker Cdi. Ausgezeichnete Nase und im Anfang noch besser.

Gigantische Nase nach New Yarmouth, jamaica funk und in Rum getränktem Weihnachtsstollen. Geschmacklich dann auch Ester-Funk, Honig, Banane, Birne und etwas Ingwer und roter Pfeffer. Erinnert leicht an Ingwerplätzchen. Rosine, Marzipan, Vanillepudding, getrocknete Feige, Zitronenabrieb und Honig und junges Holz gesellen sich im Abgang dazu. Insgesamt echt lecker & spannend aber auch etwas dünn. 4-6% mehr Alkohol würden das ganze deutlich spannender machen. Dafür aber sehr harmonisch, allerdings dominiert das New Yarmouth finish den Rum doch schon sehr! Ohne wäre der mit vermutlich zu langweilig. Aber nun Mal auch kein must have Rum!

Ausgesprochen gefälliges Profil. In der Nase dominieren Vanille, Toffee, Kakao, Gebäck und Orangennoten. Am Gaumen wird selbige Melange durch etwas Honig und pfeffriger Würzigkeit ergänzt. Insgesamt bleibt das Geschmacksprofil nahe am Versprechen aus der Nase - leider schlägt die Verdünnung aber in eine gut erkennbare Wässrigkeit durch. Schöner Einsteiger-Rum.
