Clément Canne Bleue 2014

Most tasters land somewhere around "very good, not extraordinary" — one calls it among the best from Clément, another can't quite see the top ratings. It's a white agricole poured pretty much pure: fresh-cut cane, lime, grass and a little floral lift, with pepper on the palate. Dry and short at 50%, so several members reach for sugar and lime and turn it into a punch.

The community says
  • Pure cane & lime
  • Fresh grassy nose
  • But: Short dry finish

How does Clément Canne Bleue 2014 taste?

Aggregated from 11 community reviews.

Fresh, grassy white agricole, dry and short Well-liked as a clean, grassy agricole, though not everyone buys the high scores. The finish runs short and dry, which is why many drink it long rather than neat.

Perfect for

agricole fans and ti-punch drinkers

Less suitable for

anyone wanting a long, rich sipper

I got a bunch of samples in one go and I tried them a few weeks ago. At the time I'm pretty busy so I'm getting further and further back on adding my tastings 🤔 What I have learned about these releases is that they have to rest a good while or the alcohol will hide the flawours. Nice cane and light fruit but very fresh and grassy.

8,7/10 Punkten

Distillerie du Simon

Avg Rating 8.0/10 over 330 Rums

Le Simon is Martinique's ghostwriter. It is the island's most technologically advanced distillery, yet it sells no rum under its own name, runs no public tours, and ages nothing on site. Instead it distils two of the most beloved names in Martinique agricole, HSE and, until recently, Clement, on stills moved here from their original homes. What you taste as HSE is, in fact, Le Simon.
