Tasted on the Spree boat tour with Kirsch for the 12th GRF: Good low-ester single-cask that can deliver Hampden flavor even without crazy esters.

Nice easy sipping Hampden. Personally, however, I like the higher ester marks better. Nevertheless, a great single cask from Velier!

Entspannter low ester Hampden unterm Radar! Schönes rundes Ding, Alkohol könnte nur etwas besser eingebunden sein. Und der Holz Einfluss ist mir hier insgesamt etwas zu dominant, dennoch ein toller OWH Mal zur Abwechslung.

Tasted at Pueblo del Ron Nuremberg 2024. Unfortunately this bottling did not grab me at all. In my opinion, the price asked is not worth the rum. I found it quite disappointing.

Verkostet am Kirsch Stand auf der Village in Nürnberg. Nette, runde Low Ester Nase mit leckerer Kombo aus Vanille, Früchten, Gewürzen und Politur mit Lösungsmitteln. Am Gaumen dann leider doch etwas alkoholisch und bissig sowie mir etwas zu frisch.

07.02.2020 Private tasting i was invited to. Notes. Light in colour. Nose: Fresh, wood, roasted, vegetal, fruitcake, light, caramel, polish. Palate: Light, wood, roasted, fruity, citrus, light ester, grass, herbs, spicy. Finish: Medium long, wood, medicinal, citrus, warm.

... Hampden, the legendary Jamaican distillery that besides rum also produces alcohol for perfumes. In all rums from this distillery, you can smell wild esters, after which your whole body soaks up the scent of yellow tropical fruits - mango, papaya, pineapple, peach. One of the rums you "must try before you die".
