Strawberry and coconut lead here, with candied fruit and a little marshmallow softness over a clear sugarcane backbone. This is a Haitian clairin from Casimir, pot-distilled and aged five years, so you also get that farmyard funk and a lick of anise. One French taster called it very original for its "côté bonbon à la fraise" — jammy strawberry candy. Fruit-forward and easy for a clairin, though the alcohol pushes through.

15.06.2026 Retasting and still find it pretty good when looking at the price tag. ----------- 15.02.2023 Relaxing at home with some samples. Colour Medium dark in colour. Nose Fresh, light wood, light vegetal, faint caramel, berries, faint coconut, light anise. Palate Round, fresh, light wood, light vegetal, berries, lightly sweet, faint coconut, light anise, light sugarcane, faint smoke. Finish Medium long, fresh, light vegetal, light sugarcane, light berries, faint coconut.

On the nose candied fruit, strawberries, marshmallows. On the palate still dominant fruit, strawberries more like wild ones. Intense alcohol and despite the sweet profile of the rum, after swallowing it breaks into a kind of strange something. Finish rather short.

By buying this bottle the proceeds go to charity for the hard hit people of Haiti! Unlike the vaval you can feel less of the whiskey barrel imprint but still it is a very easy drinking rum is very fruity! You open it on a carefree evening with your friends!

A very surprising rum. It's not the greatest rum I've ever drunk, but it's very original, with its very farmhouse nose and strawberry candy.
