Dieser Caroni 1997 braucht richtig viel Zeit im Glas ... ich empfehle mindestens 45min. Die Nase hat eine angenehme Süße , Leder Kandierte Trockenfrüchte etwas dreckiges , überreife Papaya etwas Pfirsich und leicht Holz . Alkohol kaum spürbar. Am Gaumen ölige Konsistenz. Pfirsich Papaya Kandierte Früchte. Leder etwas Teer und dunkle Schokolade. Fast schon etwas Flach anfangs. Teeraroma vorallem im Abgang kommen die dreckigen Bitteren Aromen aber alles super smooth ... Sehr stimmig. Alkohol Top Eingebunden.

Wie Tobi schon schrieb braucht dieser Rum sehr lange zum Atmen, da man anfangs noch eine unangenehme Alkoholnote wahrnimmt welche sich mit der Zeit verflüchtigt. Fürs Warten wird man dann aber auch belohnt - Teer, Benzin und Lösungsmittel bilden das Grundgerüst, welches durch Leder, Tee, Papaya und leichten Pfirsich ergänzt wird. Im Gaumen kommt schließlich noch Menthol dazu welcher das ganze im Abgang schön abrundet.

Eher ein dreckiger Caroni unter den 97ern. Deutlich Teer und Benzin. So einen dreckigen Zeitgenossen hatte ich lange nicht! Ist Auch schon vor längerer Zeit abgefüllt worden….

Frisch eingeschenkt wähnt man sich an einer Zapfsäule, die Benzinnoten wirken recht dominant. Er braucht eine Menge Zeit im Glas, um runder zu werden und sich zu entwickeln. Dann wird man aber mit Teer und Gumminoten belohnt, dazu ungewohnte exotische Früchte wie Papaya und Rambutan mit einer leichten Süße. Auf der Zunge spätestens bemerkt man vom Alkohol gar nichts mehr, die 61,8% ABV sind unglaublich gut eingebunden. Zum Teer kommt schwarzer Tee dazu, verbrannte Zucker und eine feine fleischige Würze. Das kenne ich so nicht vom 97er Caroni, da hab ich eher metallischen, industriellen Charakter im Hinterkopf. Im Abgang kommen Noten von Menthol und roten Trockenfrüchten dazu, er bleibt eine Weile hängen - macht Spaß sich den zu erarbeiten!
