Rum Shark Diamond 2003
Banana, spice and burnt wood, with a whiff of pralines and overripe fruit on the nose. This is an 18-year Diamond from Guyana at full cask strength, and members describe it as fruity and spicy but with the alcohol still sitting a bit proud. A few found the PM-marque character interesting; others thought the heat never fully settled into the wood.

02-09.04.2022 This was crazy week, where some friends and I rented a nice summerhouse on Rømø. The plan was to go nuts for a whole week with different rums without going overboard. The final agreement came to 6 rums a day and then enjoy nice walks or ferry rides during the day. Day 7 Notes Light in colour. Nose Intense, fresh, esters, banana, overripe, faint chocolate, light citrus. Palate Light, fresh, light wood, esters, banana, overripe, light sweet, medium spicy, light olive. Finish Medium to long, light wood, ester, light olive, faint salt, fruits.

Has its charm, but it is basically buried in the PM profile. Unfortunately, not a completely perfectly integrated alcohol. Not only in comparison to other continental PMs with fifteen or more years on the hump, this unfortunately does not yet seem fully harmonious. Solid, but more likely to be in the mid-range.

Very fruity and spicy one. The aroma offers a lot of fruit, spices and alcohol scent (it reminds me of pralines), at the end I noticed banana. In taste there is lot of technical flavor with vanilla and burnt wood. I am not sure but I think I noticed almost like nutty flavor. Finish is not long and it is very similar to everything I wrote above in the post. This is not rum for me (well at least not now, maybe in the future).
