Rum Shark Foursquare 2010
Don't let the classic Foursquare label fool you — at 63.8% this one bites. Under the familiar chocolate, vanilla and dried-fruit profile there's a wall of tannin and heat that a few tasters found sharp and not fully knit. Give it plenty of air and it settles into leather, raisin and dark cocoa. An 11-year single cask that rewards patience.

#4787 20.07.2024 Sampling a bit at home. Nose Balanced, light wood, light roasted, dark chocolate, raisin, spice. Palate Warm, balanced, naturally sweet, fruits, dried fruit, light pineapple, light wood, faint smoke, dark chocolate. Finish Medium to long, wood, light roasted, raisin, light pineapple, spice, naturally sweet. The empty glass has faint cherry, faint caramel and some vanilla. Needs to rest for a good while to settle properly or the ABV will overpower the flavours.

I really do like Forsquare rums cause almost in every one of them I feel chocolate (which is my favorite flavor in rums), but this one was quite different, at least for me (wave of fruit and subsequent sharpness). I think there is a few good bottles of Forsquare, cheaper than this one. Again I am really glad that I had opportunity to had a sample but maybe I am not the right person to fully appreciate it (to be fair I am just a rookie in rum world).

Toller Foursquare. Schöne Fruchtnoten ergänzen das klassische Foursquare-Profil, Alkohol noch präsent, aber ohne zu aufdringlich zu werden.
