Best sipped neat with time to open up — at 62.5% it needs air before the flavors show. Expect milk chocolate up front, then it turns drier, woodier and spicier, with that technical Trinidad ester note, dried fruit and a touch of glue. A long, almost winey-dry finish. Several tasters liked it but hoped for a bit more depth.

Beautiful minty one for a bottle under 100€. You can feel the alcohol, but it's very drinkable. I recommend it even to beginner rum lovers for discovering new flavors. Mint from TDL is an unmistakable taste that you never get tired of.

I've never had an Angostura bottling at cask strength in my glass before. The attack on the palate is very soft and initially dominated by milk chocolate, then increasingly dry, spicy, woody and unfortunately also a little spicy.

The color is dark honey - gold to brown, nothing super special here. The smell - strong woody and cherry tones - in general fruits (dried) and woods. The pallet is complex - from woody and fruits coming from the smell, to minty menthol tones or warm pepper tones and medium long endings..

Not too bad but I must admit I had expected more. Having tried quite a few Angostura I had hoped that the high ABV had benefitted this release. Alcohol is integrated but not well enough in my opinion. It needs to rest for a good while before you can pick up more flavours.

Finally I had an opportunity to try this Shark. Aroma is very woody, smoky with combination of sweet scent, in my opinion it is chocolate, somthis combination reminded me of pralines. But there is technical/ester scent that I like about rums from Trinidad and I noticed very pleasant fruity scent. Taste at the beggining is little sweet (at least for me), but than I noticed that typical technical flavor, dried fruit and glue. Finish is long again woody and very dry (almost winey). To be honest I was expecting little more from this sample. It is good rum, but I expected something more interesting in taste (herbs maybe or some sweet flavor)

Definitely the most interesting aroma of all Rum Sharks - beautiful sweet glue, but in taste it was overshadowed by travellers, so second place.
