Single Cask Nation Foursquare Barbados Rum 2010
Sipped neat, this drinks like a classic Foursquare with the edges softened: toasted oak and roasted nuts up front, then butterscotch, cocoa and a run of pineapple and coconut as it opens. A faint acetic-varnish orange note marks it as Foursquare. At 55.9% it stays smooth and dry, finishing tannic with leather and allspice.

How does Single Cask Nation Foursquare Barbados Rum 2010 taste?
From community reviews · summarized with AI
Soft, fruity single-cask Foursquare, dry finish Owners rate it a lovely single cask — softer oak and brighter fruit than most 10-year Foursquares. The one gripe: it doesn't stray far from the house style.

Palate Round, naturally sweet, light wood, fruits, light caramel, light roasted, faint caramel. Finish Wood, dry, fruit, tannins, warm, light marzipan, light caramel.

8,6:On the nose, toasted oak with roasted nuts, butterscotch, cocoa, burnt sugar, pastry, spicy vanilla, coconut and dried apricots, musty, sweet molasses with maple, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, citrus fruits and pineapple arise, some of the fruits are candied, allspice and cigar tobacco. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is slightly sweet, typical Foursquare, with toasted oak and roasted nuts, pastry, biscuits, butterscotch, fruits like coconut, dried apricots and raisins, when the rum is oxidized, with citrus fruits and pineapple, joined by oily roasted notes like cocoa, caramel, fudge, as the wood is slightly resinous. The molasses is still musty, earthy with tobacco. 8,4:The finish is rather long, dry&tannic, with toasted oak notes like nuts, caramel, marzipan, nicely buttery, custard, leather, spicy with allspice, pairing flowery and musty molasses with tobacco, fruits like coconut, pineapple, dried and citrus fruits-like a marmelade..

Basically a typical Foursquare with the expected basic characteristics and quality. However, this bottling stands out due to a somewhat more discreet oak influence and bright fruity aromas and has a very pleasant, soft mouthfeel with simultaneously high drinkability due to its rather low alcohol strength compared to other 10-year-old, cask-strength Foursquare bottlings.

The first tasting of the night at Whisky Watcher the 24th of February 2024, with nice company. An impressive taste for a 10 year rum. In the nose, it has a toffee-like sweetness to it, with some nuttyness and leather. The notes brings out an oily fruit sensation

Hello Foursquare! Typical aromas are also present here. A bit woodier and spicier than many of its distillery colleagues. Smooth on the finish. A tasty rum that doesn't really stand out from other Foursquare.

What a treat! A bit of acetic acid on the nose, with the typical foursquare varnish orange notes.
