02-09.04.2022 This was crazy week, where some friends and I rented a nice summerhouse on Rømø. The plan was to go nuts for a whole week with different rums without going overboard. The final agreement came to 6 rums a day and then enjoy nice walks or ferry rides during the day. Day 7 Notes Medium to dark in colour. Nose Fresh, Agricole, light wood, spice, sugarcane, light vegetal, faint plum. Palate Round, balanced, Agricole, faint anise, medium spicy, light vegetal, sugarcane, light citrus. Finish Medium long, round, wood, medium dry, light plum, faint anise.

This rum has a beautiful mahogany color. The nose is clearly woody, but it's bold and greedy. It's intense, with cocoa powder, orange, spices and vanilla. The nose is greedy, and you dive right in to enjoy it. It's the typical nose of a fine old agricultural rum, in which we like to dip our nostrils indefinitely. It's soft on the palate, with a predominance of wood. It's full-bodied, with the same notes as on the nose (vanilla, dark chocolate and a slight blood orange fruitiness). The finish is long, with a slight astringency. Personally, I'd say this is the very expression of a fine old agricultural rum. It's beautiful and good (plus the nose, as is often the case with agricole).
