Worthy Park Rum Artesanal Jamaica Rum WP 2007
"Blind, nobody guesses Worthy Park" — that's the running theme here. The nose throws herbs, lemongrass, sour citrus and a green, garden-y note that a few tasters straight-up compare to gin or Jägermeister. The palate pulls back toward familiar WP territory: dark pepper, a little banana, caramel and young wood, with a synthetic edge some love and some can't get past. At 59% it drinks softer than the proof suggests.

Herbal, gin-like Worthy Park that splits opinion Most agree it's a fascinating, wildly atypical WP worth trying — the herbal, almost gin-like profile wins points for being different, though a synthetic edge puts some off.

Worthy Park has not yet been able to convince me. Can this bottling? Somehow I am at a loss.a very exciting profile that is quite unusual for me, perhaps even new? In the nose very herbal after fresh herbs, paired with tropical fruits. However, I do not necessarily find the typical tropical fruits here, but unusual, difficult to identify, but especially sour fruits. On the palate, the herbaceous impression predominates, which is more familiar and probably also fits WP, even if I would have blindly maybe even guessed Guyana. Exciting, but overall also no highlight, here the sample is enough for me completely.

Absolutely extraordinary smell and taste worlds open up - in the nose planty-grassy aromas and green fruit and vegetable notes come to the fore, where I have immediate associations with green gooseberries, fruit bushes and grass, as well as subtle fresh herbs. Reminds me of pulling through the bushes on a spring day in the garden - I do not know so at all from rum. Next to it I have to think of unripe citrus fruits. On the palate, the impressions continue, though some typical Worthy Park notes come through here - dark pepper, some banana, caramel, smoke and wood. A very special profile that you have to like. Gets a little exotic bonus, but this certainly won't be my next Daily Sipper.

Intense nose: a bit biting at the beginning, strong tangerine and fresh, lovely lemon. In addition, a somewhat artificial note of candied orange peel, as if from fruit bread. Out the back very slightly dry, toasted wood and a touch of caramel with vanilla. The palate is also intense: lemon again, but more lemon zest with kumquat and tangerine, slightly bitter. A bit of sweetness from syrup. Young wood with nutmeg and a bit going into the herbal. Also has aromas of pineapple.Lemon and tangerine also in the finish, now the pineapple comes clearly reinforced.Pleases me for a WP yet quite good.

I fully agree with the previous reviews. Not a classic WP. Not a good WP for me either. The nose is still super interesting with the herbal notes. On the palate at the beginning then directly a fat off note for me. I would describe it as artificial. Could also be completely wrong. Can't grasp it. But it is intense. Then sweet and more WP. Unfortunately not quite mine. Maybe tipped from fermented to gathered 😋😉

Call me totally off my rocker, but this WP is blatantly catching me off guard! 😳 I have never had an olfactory comparable rum in the glass. This is supposed to be a WP? Would never have recognized it as such in my life. The reddish color associates red fruit - and I actually have that in my nose, but in a really stark, tart, very pithy form. Or is it something from the herb or vegetable garden? 🤔 I know this distinctive scent, but can't place it. It's driving me crazy! But what I can only repeat: the nose absolutely catches me! ❤️ On the palate, this does not continue quite so, it remains the impression of a really solid, strong rum. Conclusion: Mainly because of the unusual, crazy nose, this rum will find its lovers.

A classic WP is certainly not, so a fruit bomb I have never perceived on the nose of WP! Already great, but I'm a little bothered by this artificial note, which runs through to the finish !Overall, a good to very good WP of a different kind! It is always interesting how much some bottlings deviate from the usual image of a distillery!

Super crazy flavor profile! As if unripe pineapple, melon salmon gum, sawdust from virgin oak and cold candies had fallen into a pot. At the same time sweetly artificial looking and yet dry woody. Come I'm not quite clear on it but on the other hand is not completely wrong, but currently turns my view of worthy Park first on the head!🤯🤔❓

Wow, what an interesting nose, totally atypical of Worthy Park: citrus, tea, lemongrass, herbs.... On the palate again more balanced and fruity. The short to medium length finish mirrors the flavors of the nose and palate and is reminiscent of caipirinha! Very unusual WP, and therefore definitely worth a try!

Wow, for me one of the best Jamaicans so far had, apart from the Appelton Hearts! A brilliant nose, soft, balanced, fruity sweet, with fine wood. Then on the palate the floral notes come to the fore, classy, sweet, with fine spice and wood. These notes continue through the finish. I am thrilled.
Review by Johannes
At the beginning clearly WP with overripe bananas and coconut, then unfortunately comes a not quite suitable herbal note to it-a rather bad barrel?! Too bad!

Rholala, la mandarine m’a tué ! Le nez est gentil, élégant et après…. BAM !

Crazy part! In the nose blatant Jägermeister associations. On the palate quite sweet and herbs again. Very atypical for a WP! Interesting, but not my taste.
Review by Mentalo
