14.03.2020 Had a nice afternoon and evening with friends. Notes. Medium dark colour. Nose: wood, roasted, rubber, tar, cherry, earthy, mint. Palate: wood, light smoke, tar, rubber, citrus, oily, leather. Finish: very long and warm, wood, coffee, citrus, chocolate.

Sweet and semi-mild with huge Caroni profile. I like this rum. Nice choice, Stefano! ... Caroni je destilerie z Trinidadu, produkujici v dobe sve nejvetsi slavy rum, ktery se pridaval v pomeru 1:10 do namornickeho blendu. Byl totiz moc vyrazny a divny nez aby byl prijemny na jazyku. V roce 2000 destilerka skoncila s produkci a byla uzavrena. Az v roce 2010 se objevili degustatori, kteri si rum oblibili prave pro jeho specialni chut. A zajem rostl. Caroni patri do kategorie rumu "you need to try before you die". Doporucuji, Caroni je opravdu unikatni rum.

Nose takes a lot of time to open. It feels slightly too dry at first with too much wood and spices to my liking. If you're patient enough, it becomes incredibly well balanced between fruity, round and typical Caroni notes. Wonderful. Palate delivers the same kind of profile with even more sweet notes and this funky touch of candy I really like. Overall, a super solid rum as I would expect from a 20 years old 1996 single cask Caroni 👏🏼
