Clarendon Plantation Jamaica 2007 Clarendon MSP (One-Time Limited Edition) MSP
Sipped neat it's an easy, fruity Jamaican — banana, ripe tropical fruit, vanilla and a woody, slightly cognac-like edge from the Ferrand finish. Several tasters call it a "netter Everyday-Sipper" that goes down without effort. The trade-off comes up a lot: light on funk, a bit thin, and the alcohol isn't always tidy on the nose. Reads dry-ish with real fruit, not a sugar bomb.

- Easy to drink
- But: Light on funk

I bought a few of these bottles and I think that the price to quality is very good. The nose is fruity and woody with vanilla and a hint of grass. The palate is warm, lightly dry and sweet with wood and fruits trailed by vanilla and earthy notes. The finish is medium long and warm/lightly dry with wood and fruits.A very good buy thinking about the price tag.

The nose has an unpleasant pungent alcoholic, chemical note that if you are not careful also appears on the palate. The taste is fermented banana and very sweet pineapple.
Review by Thunderbird
In the nose a lot of fermented papaya and unfortunately also some unpleasant alcohol! The palate and finish is unspectacular and balanced!A good entry-level rum

Relatively relaxed Clarendon. Has something of rum grape nut with light esters. Easy to drink, not overpowering. Just a little too bitter overall and the alcohol could be better integrated, especially on the nose.
Review by Sven
Typical Jamaican on the nose. Tropical fruits such as pineapple and papaya lightly fermented with esters. Plus vanilla and herbs. Not very complex. Could do with a little more depth. Otherwise a nice rum and ok for the price.
Review by Christian Rudt
For me just too thin. Taste profile is Okay somewhat rounder than with a Worthy Park single estate reserve but that is not a single cask and permanently available and offers me on balance simply more taste.unfortunately somewhat disappointing.

Done as a Live Taste Along with my YouTube community 12/06/22. Honest opinion, I love Plantation, but for a £70 Rum it lacked ooomph. No “Jamaican Funk” as such. Prefer Worthy Park Single Estate and Appleton 12yo.

For the price a nice starter. Nice everyday sipper without the mega complexity and demands.

Would not have guessed Clarendon in a blind tasting I think… intensive fruits (banana) on the nose. To me the cognac finish is very present in all segments. Not bad, but somewhat not balanced enough to make a outstanding low ester Jamaican. ABV is fine to me. Does not feel watered down while still being very approachable.
Review by TheRhumhoe
A Jamaican rum that plays more on subtlety than on high esters. The nose immediately reminds us of the terroir of origin with ripe exotic fruits, citrus and phenolic notes. Woody, spicy and vegetal notes complete this homogeneous profile. The attack in mouth is supple, the rum is very fluid and is easily drinkable. We remain on the register previously described, notably tropical fruits, woody vanilla, spices and a vegetal touch. The finish is of medium length and remains faithful to the palate and the nose. A rum which plays less on the card of the aromatic concentration but which wants to be rather refined and pleasant.

Long strong finish. Fine touches of wood

Good Jamaican, good value for money (even if we can find better I think). It lacks a bit of depth and complexity in the mouth. The nose needs a little time but evolves in a really nice way.
Review by Dim Itri
The first nose is very Jamaican: overripe fruit and solvent, I have difficulty to appreciate these too chemical noses... By letting the rum air for 30 min, it is another much more pleasant nose which reveals itself: we have wood, armagnac, it is warm, much rounder! In mouth the attack is a little alcoholic-bitter, we find the ripe fruit, a little spice but also some marc. The finish is rather short, spicy, raspy on the tongue.in conclusion, I will say that it is a rather average rum but my palate is maybe not mature enough to drink Jamaican...

L'alcool s'est vraiment mal intégré !! Le nez est mauvais et en bouche c'est similaire..

First impression of this delicious bottle I'd very good, and I have been looking forward to this one. The JAMAICA 2003 49,5% birds series I love, and find that bottel very nice. The firste taste of this new one, is very good but not as good as the last one. But it is just my first impression, it may change 😊

Beautiful Clarendon. I find the alcohol strength very good. The aroma comes through very nicely. Nice tropical fruit and spice. The same buls are also reflected in the taste. Really makes you want more. The bottle also has a very nice design. However, there are deductions for the added colorant

I am not the biggest Clarendon lover. This rum has been reduced to a good, pleasant drinking strength, but it does lack some body. Good, but a bit too inconsequential.
Review by Eric Frechin
