Store visit Rum Paradise Hamburg April 2025. Next up, a Botucal. This is also a slightly sweeter rum. Vanilla and caramel on the nose, but some wood is also recognizable. There is also a hint of chocolate on the palate.

Blindverkostung: joa, spanischer Stil, sehr deutlich! Dazu leider sehr alkoholisch mit Lösungsmittelgeruch. Karamell, Vanille, Getreide und süßlich. Am Gaumen stark brennender Alkohol, aber nicht wegen höhren Prozenten, sondern wegen schlecht eingebundenem Alkohol. Der Rum dürfte 46-48% haben, die aber ordentlich brennen. Er ist würzig mit einer leichten Bitterkeit – leider aber überhaupt nicht tiefgehend oder spannend. Der Abgang ist vernachlässigbar kurz und nicht wirklich aromatisch. Er erinnert mich sehr stark an den kürzlich probierten Botucal Distillery Coll. No. 1 Batch Kettle 47%. 57 Punkte

Good, pleasing ron. Not very sweet. Certainly a good accompaniment to a cigar. There are better, but also much worse.

Not bad, not bad at all. Funny is that nose is completely different than the taste. Lots of fruity aromas with some kind of freshness that I cannot describe while taste is exclusively around sweet notes such as vanilla, nougat etc. Really nice rum with one fault- short finish. That would be 73 for me. Retasting and pulling 1 point down.

Po dlouhém odkládání diplomatico tripletu jdeme na to. Nos ve srovnání s běžný diplwm celkem neočekávamý. Ovoce a květinové tóny, dub a alkohol. V chut je obroská změna oproti vůni. Spíše těžší sladké tóny, vanilka a kramel. Kraťoučký závěr.

Im April 2022 besuchte ich mit meinem Freund Enrico in Essen bei Cigarren Baydar & Sahin GmbH ein Rum-Tasting von Botucal. Der Brand Ambassador Peter S. hat uns toll durch den Abend geführt. Gute Zigarren und ein sehr schmackhaftes Buffet rundeten den tollen Abend ab. Seitdem weiß ich den Stoff von BOTUCAL sehr zu schätzen.
