02.10.2016 - 03.10.2016 A great extended weekend with rum friends. This was a nice event and lots of space between the tables. Only problem was the level of English at some of the exhibitors. I will start with the rums we brought ourselves and then add the ones we tried at the event. Notes Light to medium dark in colour. Nose Light, faint floral, light minerals, citrus. Palate Light, thin, light roasted wood, light floral, faint medicinal, citrus. Finish Short, light wood, light citrus, faint earthy note.

Caroni is a distillery from Trinidad that, during its heyday, produced rum that was added in a ratio of 1:10 to a naval blend. It was too strong and strange to be pleasant on the tongue. In 2000, the distillery stopped production and was closed. It wasn’t until 2010 that tasters appeared who liked the rum precisely for its special taste. And interest grew. Caroni belongs to the category of rums "you need to try before you die." I recommend it, Caroni is truly a unique rum.
