Very good real and authentic Batavia arrack. Mega board in the daiquiri & arrackiri! Absolutely on a par with the one from by the Dutch, if not a tad better. Unfortunately only available in Switzerland at Labat in Zurich! Really nice product. PS: be sure to order arrack drinks in the embury bar in Frankfurt!

And another Arra(c)k afterwards. This one falls a little short of the previous two. It's still good, but not as good. In any case, it's very herbal, with some red bell pepper and chili recognizable. A slight spiciness is added on the palate.

Once again an outstanding tasting that Artur organized superbly. Many thanks for the introduction to the world of Arra(c)ks. The blends are truly a challenge for the taste buds. But what really surprised me was this BASF bottling. My deepest respect for the time and effort that is repeatedly put into it. A real honor to be able to participate in such tastings again and again.

Arra(c)k 2.0 tasting by Artur. Butter and vinegar on the nose, freshest sweet, vegetal freshness and dry herbs. Quite a contrasting nose. The palate is a bit rough with fresh vegetal, sweetness and esters. The finish is quite long but a bit bitter and sharp but fresh fruits are there with black tea and tannins. An arrack that resembles a Clairin, for example Sajous?

Arrac(k) tasting 2.0 by Artur. An exciting tasting journey with an impressive range of styles and profiles. Everything from smoky to fruity to spicy was represented – sometimes a bit unbalanced, sometimes surprisingly round. Especially some bottlings showed a lot of character and depth and stayed memorable. A format that is really fun. Thanks Artur for the opportunity! 😊

8,1:On the nose, anise, vegetal(mushrooms), flowery molasses, fermented tropical fruits with litchi, yellow and citrus fruits, dairy and cheese, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, even more vegetal bias is noticed with red bell peppers, chilli, tomatoes, buttery with cream toffee, chocolate, nutty, smoky, perhaps some burnt rubber comes out. 8:On the palate, the attack is funky with esters, fermented tropical fruits, vegetal molasses like red bell peppers, mushrooms, saffran, later flowery, spicy with red pepper, perhaps black, smoky with bacon and nutty, as the fruits are also dried, citrus. 7,8:The finish is medium long, dry, vegetal with tea, saffran, perhaps black tea, oaky, nutty, spicy and smoky, fruity with dried and citrus fruits. Great bottling, extremely complex and round despite short aging. My favorite of the evening! Arra(c)k Attack 2.0 tasting with Artur all over, from really nasty blends to surprisingly good representatives, everything included. Great journey to this completely unknown spirit to me so far.
