Edit: Good rum for a small price At first, the Old Monk didn't suit my taste. Now I can appreciate it much more. The basic criticism remains, however: the finish is really very short and the very distinctive taste is not for everyone. + very cheap price + exotic origin from India + completely unique flavor profile with notes of gingerbread and pepper +- highly recommended for Cuba Libre, haven't tried it myself yet - short finish that hardly lingers - spices could be more intense Fans of spicy notes should definitely grab it thanks to the very good price-quality ratio. It's also good to enjoy neat, but aside from its spicy base flavor, it remains relatively bland. You can tell the price here and should adjust your expectations accordingly. An exciting price-performance hit that brings a very special taste for its money. For a few euros more, however, you can get bottles that score with more fullness and a better finish.

Most likely there are additives here. You can taste the spices. But still, this rum can be enjoyed neat. The aroma is better than the taste.
