My RumRatings review from 5 years ago: The Blue Mauritius is very nutty on the nose. Some dried fruit, wood, caramel, and also spices come through. I think there's nutmeg too. The roundness here is interesting. On the palate, the same aromas continue. A distinct hazelnut note is prominent. A slightly easy-drinking sweetness with caramel and vanilla underline the creamy impression. The finish isn't very long and the slight sharpness is caught by barrel notes and some fruit. I'll be honest. I don't like this rum. I've drunk it several times now and the strong hazelnut note isn't for me. Also, it seems sweetened and is too easy-drinking for me. Not a bad rum but not a particularly good one either, unless you really like hazelnut liqueur.

Clearly goes for a soft, sweet, and easy-going style. Vanilla, honey, caramel, and tropical fruits make it very approachable but offer little depth or complexity. Pleasant to drink and a good introduction for rum newbies, but a bit too smooth and generic for experienced connoisseurs.

Oh well, what can I say. After all the Schollenbergers, this rum is a real treat. I'm sure that's why I rated it too highly, but it's no use. Perhaps a little better than an average rum.

Tasted at Rhumfest, I didn't know this brand. I'm very disappointed, it's far from New Grove which I really like. It feels more like a slightly spicy rum. It revolves a lot around burnt sugar, coffee, vanilla, a bit of banana and spices.

Nut cream with alcohol. Smells almost like almond cream. Also macadamia and hazelnut and milk chocolate. On the palate then more like a hazelnut chocolate spread. So a perfect companion to toast in the morning!

The aroma is weaker, mainly vanilla, caramel, dried fruit, and roastiness. The taste is too sweet vanilla with nougat. The finish is something between hazelnut and nougat, vanilla and burnt caramel. Maybe also a bit of maple syrup. If it weren't for the sugar, it could be a good piece. Remotely reminds me of Cinecane popcorn rum.

On the nose, we get a good portion of Nutella. In the mouth, it’s less sweet than expected but still very sweet, no question. Tastes more like nuts than actual Nutella now. The finish stays nutty with more vanilla pushing to the front. Finish is a bit short.

Now a Blue Mauritius.. I quite like it and am positively surprised. On the nose you notice a hint of licorice which is really very interesting. Very wintery taste, caramel and vanilla. Generally not bad.

Úprimne som čakal sladkú bombu keďže som o tomto kúsku počul kadečo avšak nie je to až tak sladké ako som sa obával. Veľmi príjemná vôňa sladkého pečiva a banánu, až mám chuť povedať že vo vôni cítim bábovku, doplnená o lieskové oriešky. Chuť krásne kopíruje vôňu kde sa naplno pretavujú tóny sladkého pečiva, banánového koláča, bábovky a zároveň škorice a sladkého drievka alebo inak povedané pelendreku. Veľmi zaujímavo vyskladaná chuť ktorá je sladká pre mlsné jazýčky avšak svojou pikantnosťou to krásne vyvažuje a na počudovanie záver je pomerne dlhý (na takto sladký nápoj) a na povrch vystupujú lieskové oriešky. Pomerne príjemný spirit drink ktorý si viem predstaviť ako aperitív alebo aj digestív.

A light, straightforwardly sweet rum with a relatively long finish. The taste is more pronounced than the aroma, with caramel sweetness and light notes of vanilla prevailing. The rum won't offend, but it won't excite either.

Taste is mildly and gently banana with vanilla and honey, the finish is quite short and the taste disappears quickly, alcohol remains. Design quite nice👍 and it's more good marketing because there are better rums in that category.

Mocno słodki i mocno alkoholowy. Banan i biała czekalada. Finisz długi ale też bardzo słodki, monotonny. Do picia w małych ilościach i małymi lyczkami. Strong and very sweet taste. A lot of bananas, white chocolate and alcohol. Really good to drink solo but only in small quantities and small sips.

This rum caught my attention based on reviews, so I tried buying a bottle. The nose and taste are very original and interesting. The rum is quite sweet and in the nose and taste I feel banana combined with cinnamon and caramel. Although the taste is interesting, it doesn't seem very rum-like to me.

24 days of rum day 12. Hazelnut is pretty big here. Makes for an interesting rum. A light bit of vanilla. Golden pour. Light sweetness, some pot-pourrie. Cool taste. I'd go back to this. Definitely a fun aroma.

The nose seriously smells like cheap vanillin in a instant pudding packet. Besides that the sweetness comes with a little alcohol, the palate only gets a little spices besides. This is as terrible as it gets for this products trying to say that they're rum
