One taster just called it "genial" and left it there — which tells you the room it walks into. This is old Courcelles molasses rum: cherry and sour cherry up front, then honey, vanilla and a saffron note more than one member singled out as the surprise. Thirty-eight years of oak sits balanced, never drying or bitter, and at 54% the alcohol reads fully woven in. A rare bottle people sip slowly.

Tasted together in the small circle of the Franconian Tasting Gang. I just have to write something again to get these two hundred words together. 😅 The rum could simply be described with just one word: BRILLIANT Thanks to Serge the donor.

No direct comparison with the single bottle size (it's been a while). But without thinking too much about the 0.7 liter bottling, I can smell a lot of saffron, honey, vanilla, some brioche and also some sour cherry. It also delivers on the palate and I am completely thrilled. From memory, a little less perfumed and a little more saffron and honey.

Very independent profile. For me, a mixture of good old Agricole and Enmore. Very broad mouthfeel with an eternal finish. A great rarity.

Exquisite, yellow fruits meet noble spicy notes and honey sweetness. Despite its great age, the wood is in no way intrusive or otherwise unpleasantly perceptible, on the contrary - the balance is almost perfect. A bottling with a lot of history and at the same time a rum that is unlikely to be available in this form a second time.

#6162 31.12.2025 Relaxing with some rums preparing for the New Year dinner and celebrations. Nose Fresh, round, balanced, fruits, light wood, faint smoke, cherry, light vegetal, floral, faint marzipan. Palate Balanced, oily, light wood, faint roasted, light chocolate, berries, light floral, faint coffee, light honey. Finish Medium to long, balanced, oily, light wood, cherry, light honey, light vegetal. Empty glass Vanilla, chocolate, light cherry, light honey, light citrus. The ABV integration in this rum is extremely good and all over balance great.

Spicy and wonderfully round and full-bodied: With notes of dark fruits, toasted oak, a bit of pepper and fine sweetness, this rum has a remarkable balance of power and elegance. The long finish convincingly rounds off the tasting experience – a real highlight. Thanks to Serge for this great sample!

Incredibly beautiful Courcelles in the magnum bottle. Aromatically typically lots of cherry and tropical fruits as well as an exciting saffron note that totally excites me. Alcohol perfectly integrated. Even more delicious in the magnum bottle! 😜

Expressive and profound bottling, for me the strongest from the Rum House range. Complex aroma with ripe fruit, fine spice and elegant wood note. Despite the moderate drinking strength, intense and multi-layered. The differences to the other releases are small, but here everything feels a bit more harmonious. Exceptional quality, especially in relation to the price.

Brioche and baking flavours dominant rum. Quite unique. Very balanced. Lot of plum, cherry, honey. Cinnamon, caramel, chocolate, caffe big 4 "C's":) You will find oily structure at finish. Harmonic baking style flavors. This rum will be adopted by my girlfriend I hope too.

Quite a simple nose of wood, cooked vanilla and vegetal notes. After a while, the palate gives off a strong, intense impression of dry sap, white chocolate and red fruit...like morello cherry! Dry glue, dried varnish, suddenly zan, sweet and sour Carbons, surprising, woody, vanilla and candied fruit return with a trace of tobacco.
